(Okay, cool!)
(sorry guys ive basically been locked out of notebook for a number of hours due to application errors, but im back now)
Oh, no. I'm going to be late, Mia thought as she ran to the cafe. Her and the rest of the Heartists were meeting there, and she was supposed to be there 10 minutes ago.
(the rest of them are in the cafe already)
(It's fine! Same here. -_-)
Mattie tapped her fingers on the table and perked up instantly when she saw her friend enter. "Mia! You're here!" she called out, clearly relieved to see her.
Mia stood in front of the table, panting, hands on knees. She held up a finger. "Give me a minute to catch my breath. I just ran two kilometres to get here (sorry i dont know the american measurements very well) to get here. In heeled boots."
Mattie held in a laugh. 2 kilometers was nothing! But she was more… suited for the task. She smiled and gestured to the seat beside her. "Saved you a seat." (Btw, it's totally fine.)
(oof, me too, what's with Notebook lately?)
"Hi, Mia." River greeted happily. She would've waved, but her hands were currently occupied with Cookie, her tiny brown tabby.
(Idk, it's been acting up a lot.)
Mia sat down, and a glass of diet coke was placed in front of her almost immediately.
Gigi had been working on a little gadget for the past hour, not realizing Mia walked in. In front of her a glass of water and a sandwich she has touched yet. When it came to any gadgets or electronics, she would pretty much go into her own world. Her glasses started to slip off her face and she pushed them up mumbling to herself.
(srry about that, I wasn't able to get on notebook for some reason yesterday)
Carter was currently doodling on her arm with a marker. It was a skull rose,(https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d6/69/18/d66918fb164b8cd84bde572fa07604f4.jpg), there was a cup of coffee in front of her which was half empty. She knew Mia was here since she heard them talking but she didn't look up from her drawing at all.
Mia got her song book out and started to flick through the pages.
River leaned forward to see past Mattie, and tilted her head at Mai's book. "Whatcha doin'?" She asked, leaning back again to keep Cookie from batting at the napkins on the table.
"Trying to find my two new songs," Mia replied, not looking up.
"What are they about?" Mattie asked casually, checking her missed texts. 2 from Mom, 1 from Dad… 13 from Katy. She tried not to display the panic that spiked in her chest. She didn't know why, but she didn't want to read them. She quickly calmed herself down. Knowing Katy, it was probably something stupid.
"Random stuff." Mia took a sip of her drink.
"Like what?" Mattie asked, setting her phone screen down and turning her full attention on Mia.
Mia looked at Mattie. "Random….. Stuff….. "
"What… random… stuff…?" Mattie insisted, suppressing a smile.
"Random….. Stuff….."
"Lemme see," Mattie pressed.
Mia moved her book away. "No one sees my songs until they're performed."
Mattie pouted playfully. She fought the urge to keep pushing, it was just her competitiveness. "Fine. But what's the main idea?"
"Well, you know how we've nicknamed ourselves 'The Heartists' as in the artists of heart?"
"Yeah," Mattie answered. They'd all voted on it during their last meeting.
"I'm writing one of those songs about it."
"Ah," Mattie sighed, nodding in understanding. "Are you going to sing some?"
"Maybe, maybe not. I haven't decided yet."
"I mean, now," Mattie said, a knowing look on her face.
"No. Don't feel like it."
