“Well… Maybe. We’ll see.” Andion said, giving her a smile.
“Well… Maybe. We’ll see.” Andion said, giving her a smile.
"Are you suggesting we duel again?" Blaine asked, giving him a look. "For the third time in a week?"
“No, not while we are both injured.” Andion said, rolling his eyes.
"Well, obviously. That would be just plain stupid," Blaine shot back.
Andion glared at her but didn't reply as they had arrived at the infirmary. As they walked in, they were greeted by a couple healers who immediately started working on their wounds and fixing them up.
You should really be nicer to him. Acting that way will only drive him away.
No. He would just think something was up if I started acting differently. I'm not going to change who I am for anyone. If he likes me back, he'll deal with it.
All right… If you say so. Maybe just tone it down a bit, though?
Blaine inwardly sighed, casting a quick look at Andion. Fine.
Andion let out a sigh through his nose and rubbed at his face.
Keep it together, don't lash out, keep it in.
After the healer finished work on him, he thanked the healer and grabbed a near by shirt and pulled it gently over his head.
"All healed up, Blaine?" He asked, looking over at her.
"Just about," Blaine said, the healer who was helping her just finishing bandaging her last injury. "There, now I'm done. Any chance you've heard from Thranion at all? Any jobs?"
Andion shook his head, "No, nothing at all."
Blaine clicked her tongue as she stood and started toward the door. "Then I have nothing to do, it seems. I suppose food would be a good idea…"
"Do you um.." He coughed, "Want to go into town with me? To… get some food or something?" He rubbed at the back of his neck and looked down at his feet.
Blaine looked back at Andion, raising an eyebrow at him. She didn't want to assume, and she definitely couldn't ask without embarrassing herself, but she wondered if he was… asking her out…
"I– I mean, I guess. Sure, why not?" she agreed with a shrug, trying to act nonchalant.
Andion looked up and tried to not look too happy but there was a glint to his eyes as he said, "Great, meet out the front in fifteen then?"
"Yeah, that sounds good," Blaine agreed with a nod and a slight smile. "I guess I'll see you then?"
"Yeah, see you then." Andion gave her a smile before leaving for his room to get ready, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
When Blaine reached her room, she finally allowed herself to grin. Pulling out her favorite outfit, she later it on her bed before quickly showering. The duel had left her hot and sweaty, and she didn't want to go out like that.
Andion showered quickly and didn't stop smiling the entire time. Once we had finished, he grabbed a nice pair of pants and a dark navy shirt. He quickly ran a hand through his hair, trying to look slightly more presentable before heading to the front of the guild.
After changing into the clothes she'd laid on her bed, Blaine brushed her still-wet hair, hoping it would dry quickly. When she'd finished that, she shook it out and fixed it so that it looked at least semi-nice.
Once she was satisfied with her appearance, she headed to the front of the guild to meet Andion. He was already there, and she toned down her smile. She didn't want to seem desperate.
Andion whistled to himself and put his hands in his pockets. He was too lost in thought to notice Blaine was there. A stray cat walked up to his feet and he bent down to stroke it's black fur, smiling softly to himself.
Blaine cleared her throat as she reached Andion.
"Hey. You ready?" she asked, not having noticed the cat.
"Hm? Oh, yeah." He said, giving her a smile as he stood up, the cat meowing in protest to the lack of attention.
Blaine returned his smile before she glanced down and saw the cat, her eyes softening as she did so. Bending down, she stroked it a few times, murmuring softly to it. When she realized that Andion was probably watching her, she straightened back up, blushing ever so slightly.
"So, um… Where are we headed?" she asked awkwardly.
"Well, there's this nice place I know of, unless you had one you wanted to go too?" He raised an eyebrow in question but smiled at her.
"No, that sounds good," Blaine agreed. "You, um– You look nice, by the way."
Andion smirked, "Why thank-you, you look rather beautiful yourself." He said, giving her a wink before walking in the direction of the place they were headed.
Blaine blushed and stared after him for a moment before hurrying to catch up.
"So… May I ask why you asked me to come with you?" she asked, looking at him out of the corner of her eye, her calm façade back on.
Andion put his hands in his pockets as they walked, "It's either because I needed someone to hang out in or I just wanted to spend time with you," He shrugged, "One of the two."
"Gee, way to make things easy for me," Blaine muttered under her breath. She thought she knew the answer, but she didn't want to assume incorrectly and embarrass herself, so she said nothing further on the topic.
"Why'd you agree to come with me? You could have said no." Andion said looking at her sidelong. He didn't quite know why she agreed but was very glad she did.
Blaine blushed slightly, though she smirked at Andion.
"It's either because I had nothing better to do, or because I wanted to spend time with you," she said with a shrug.
(Probably going to disappear soon.)
