Kate had followed them out. She gave Rose a hug, holding on for a split second longer than normal. She followed Xavier to his car silently. She stepped in and buckled herself, mind silent and everything numb.

"Ty, you only have about five years to live, at the most." Ty was in complete shock, he couldn't talk, he could show emotion. It was just like his father. He doesn't want to die, not like this, not with some disease. "I'll leave you to process this." James stood and walked to the door, only looking back at Ty once before leaving. As soon as the door closed Ty pulled his knees to his chest and sobbed. How was he going to have the life he wanted in only five years. At least I graduate soon. He tried to think positive, but the nasty thought snuck back in, then all the sudden anger seeped it's way in. Pulling the pillow out from behind him threw it across the room. "I'd rather just die now and get it over with." He laid back down with no pillow for comfort and looked at the ceiling. As he closed his eyes to sleep one more tear fell.
(…i hate this. I just. I refuse.)
They had made it back to Xavier's. She went to the guest house feeling numb, and somehow, it was the worst pain she ever had. She sat on the bed, feeling every step she took away from him as it pulled on her heartstrings. For about ten minutes, she just sat there. Not thinking, not moving, not blinking. At some point, she must have gotten up and gone to the path of great outside because that's where she was all of the sudden. And then she was in reality. The millions of paused thoughts flowing through her mind. She laid back on the grass, tears falling. She refused to close her eyes, screed that if she opened them, Ty would be gone. Instead, she lay awake in the grass heart aching for Ty.
(I know, I'm a horrible person. I'm going out for a bit, I'll be back later.)
(First last night, now xksockdnsbejovosqj ok have fun cruel demon continues crying)
Blue jumped at the pillow, staring at Ty. What happened? What’d the doctor say? Blue searched Ty’s face, trying to find something, anything that he could decipher. “Ty, can I do anything?” Anything to help, despite not knowing Ty a whole bunch, he couldn’t just sit there. He quickly added before Ty could say something that Blue wouldn’t be able to decipher again, “I-I can’t hear anything- I lost my hearing.”
Ty quickly wiped the tears from his eyes and looked over at Blue. Looking around he found a notebook and pen that belongs to James but at this point he didn't care. 'I have about five years to live' He wrote and showed it to Blue and forced a smile on his face. Ty hated when people saw him break down. 'Don't worry, I'll be fine.'
Blue blinked once. Then twice, rereading the words again and again. Ty had it so dang worse than him. He wanted to say something, anything, so he finally came up with, “I- Oh gosh I’m sorry Ty. I-I know we don’t really know each other, but- oh gosh. I’m sorry.” He has it so much worse. Compared to him, I shouldn’t even be in the hospital.
(I swear I'm crying so hard right now. How did this start so fluffy and end so…….. cry worthy???)
As she laid there, she plucked blades of grass one by one. How are stars, blades of grass and humans so alike? All so desperate to shine out in any way we can. The brightest shade of green, the most twinkle, the best looks. Sometimes, the imperfect reality was all that Kate had ever wanted. Now was not one of those times. She wanted a happy ending. Not some twisted John Green ending. Her eyes began to sting, and no matter how much she tried not to, they closed, taking her from reality.
'Thank you. Well, I'm going to sleep.'he showed Blue what he wrote, before putting back on the table next to him. If I sleep maybe I can wake up and all of this will just be some bad dream. Ty closed his eyes, and for the first time ever he was scared that he won't wake up in the morning. "They have to at least let me go to school." Slowly he fell asleep and prayed that he woke up in his own bed.
Blue subconsciously frowned, before curling over to sleep himself. Everything hurt. He hoped Vash didn’t have to feel it too. He clutched his arm, which still felt numb. Maybe they forgot to check it out or something… Blue curled the blanket over his head, closing his eyes and praying that Vash at least slept well tonight.
Vash sat in the lobby/waiting room trying to get comfy in the stiff chair when she felt her phone buzz in her pocket, crap. she pulled it out to see the text was from Joe, where are you? she sighed and reluntcly responded, hospital. she didn't want him to know why, but she knew he'd press for answers using threats, what did you do girl? Even if it was a text Vash could sense his anger. answer me now! She didn't. With a click of a button she turned off her phone and fiddled with a pen she'd borrowed from the front desk, 'how you holding up?' She wrote knowing it hadn't been that long yet. But she couldn't stand being away from Blue at the moment.
Kate awoke to the early morning sun warming her skin. Her eyes slowly opened. She could feel the weight in them as she did from her crying the night before. She stood up, just noticing she was still outside. Every muscle ached as she made her way to the guest house to get ready. Will Ty be at school today? Part of her hoped he was and that last night was just a dream. The other part of her hoped he was lying safely in a hospital bed, with less of a chance of what happened yesterday to happen.
Blue woke up to a new message on his arm. He looked around for a pen, found on near his bedside and, rather than answering, wrote Did you sleep well? He sighed, looking at his arm that he still couldn’t move. Maybe they didn’t know, maybe Vincent didn’t tell them that I broke my arm. They were probably to busy helping Ty. Blue curled in on himself again. He didn’t even matter, he was probably the least of the hospital’s worries.
Vash awoke with a start, her head snapping up from the almost broken position it'd been in all night. "Ma'am, there's someone here looking for you." The nurse looked at Vash as if she was crazy for sleeping there all night. crap. "um…yeah I'll call him latter…can I visit my friend again?" She felt the ach in her neck from sleeping in the chair all night. The nurse nooded her head and Vash sprung up to rush to Blues room, "heeey-" she said half running into the door.
Blue’s smiled a little, despite the pain, when he saw Vash. He was sure his bruises looked ten times worse than yesterday, his arms and legs were a mess of purple black and green from what he could see. He wondered if he had a black eye, or maybe two. He couldn’t really remember every detail from when his father had started hitting him.
Vash chastised herself remembering Blue couldn't hear her. She sat down next to his bed in a chair and looked to her arm, 'pretty sure I've broke my neck, but yes.' She smiled slightly, 'you?'
