“It feels so long, ya know? Back when I met you, Kate, I was so… I dunno, shy, I guess. It’s kind of comical,” Blue laughed lightly, chewing on his lip and looking at his bruises and cast. You’d think it’d be the other way around, when I get beat so hard my ears stop working would be the time when I clamp up. Blue leaned a little closer to Vash, infinitely thankful for his ability to hear.
"Yeah, I suppose." She leaned forward against the table. "So, are things getting better?" She hoped they were. When she first met him, he seemed so fragile and unsure every step. Now, sitting next to Vash, he seemed to smile a lot more.
“Yeah, it’s been a lot better since… well, you know,” Blue raised his bruised arms for emphasis. He forced a light laugh, shrugging off the memories. At least it’s over now, at least I’m free.
"That's good." She hoped that were at least better, they never seemed to be good for any of them, but better is good. It's a wider smile or holding hands. It's the little things.
(Well I've been dead. Sorry.)
Vash had eaten her sandwiche rather fast and now listened to the others talk. yes things had been better, now that he's away from that, *man. she would go as so far to call Blues father a man. More like an over sized child that'd never been taught to be nice. But that still didn't change the fact that she did want to punch him in the face for what he'd done to Blue.
Ty put the stuff in the back and leaned against his truck for only a moment. His hand went to his pocket which his phone was in, if things got bad, they all had phones in case. If they work on the trails that is. Walking back he put a smile on his face to hide that facet he was a bit scared. "Everyone ready?"
"I am." Kate stood, smiling. Excitement started to rush through her veins, faster than every before. She looked to the sky where the sun seemed to be getting lower. Ty said it'd be fine…
"Heck yeah!" Vash stood with excitement still trying to push away her anxiety. She looked to her knee hoping it wouldn't decide to make a scene and give out.
Blue grinned, standing himself, “I’m definitely ready.” He stretched, rolling his shoulders, then started walking towards the hiking trail, “This is going to be really fun.”
Ty took Kate's hand and followed after Blue. He pulled his backpack further up. The breeze felt nice, but he could tell it was getting cooler. "I brought a jacket for the both of us just in case." He also had some food, flashlights, fire starters anything you could think of, the only sad thing was it was a bit heavy.
"Okay." Kate could feel the cold seeping into her and knew would probably need it later. For now, she just held onto his hand and walked beside him as they neared it.
"So this trail, any of y'all ever hike it before?" Vash spun to walk backwards so she could see Kate and Ty. She knew Blue had most likely never walked it, so the question had been directed more at the others.
"I have, when my dad was alive," He paused and tried to reword what he was saying, "When I was younger my dad would bring me here and hike it, that was years ago though." The sunset was shining through the trees.
Kate squeezed his hand a little bit letting him know she was here for him. "I haven't been on this specific trail. I've been on one a little further down though."
“Well I guess this will just be an adventure then,” Blue laughed lightly, taking Vash’s hand in his own and smiling at her, “Hopefully we can get back before it gets too dark.”
(Hahaha little do you know unsuspecting Characters.)
Vash smiled and added, "well maybe a late night hike would be," she paused for effect, "spooky." Vash laughed at her comment as she swung hers and Blues hands back and forth.
(Gonna assume its near Halloween because it is irl? If y'all are okay with it that is.)
Blue rolled his eyes a little, smirking at Vash, “Don’t worry, I’ll protect you from the mummies and skeletons. But I can’t say much about vampires,” Blue flashed his teeth in a smile.
"Wow." Vash bumped Blue's shoulder with her own returning his smile. "I don't think those exist, but thank you anyway."
(Sorry its so short.)
Ty laughed enjoying the company of others. "Well, I'll try and make sure nothing happens to any of you." He hoped he would be able to do that much at least. Ty would protect them till his body gave out, he would definitely make sure Kate was safe. "Does anyone want a flashlight? I know it's starting to get dark, and I don't want anyone tripping over stuff."
“I’ll take one if you have a spare,” Blue didn’t want him nor Vash to trip or anything on their hike, that would just ruin the date if they got injured. Besides, Blue didn’t want hurt himself any further than what his father had done.
Ty stopped and opened his bag. He handed Blue two flashlights and pulled two more out for Kate and himself. "Alright, I also have jackets, but only two, so we might have to switch ever once in a while, and I have some food. I hope everyone brought their drinks?" Ty knew he was worrying to much, all he wanted was for no one to get hurt, that's all.
"I can share jackets with Blue." Vash shook her sleeves with a slight laugh. "So this trail, is it long?" She was less worried about how long it was more worried about how steep it might get.
"Yeah, but it's basically a giant circle, so at the end it will lead us back to the park." It was a simple cute walk, it's prettier in the day time so you could see all the beautiful nature. Ty has never walked it in the dark, but he didn't think it would be that bad.
The sun seemed to be getting lower and the wind cooler. She glanced over her shoulder. "Are you sure it's a good idea to do this so close to sundown? I mean, I'm all for hiking and stuff, but I don't know." The wind brushed against her face, a small chill running though her.
"Do you want to go back?" Ty stopped walking and turned so he could see Kate's face. "I don't want you to do something you don't want too." If she was uncomfortable with this, then he would take her home.
She looked to him. "No, it's fine. I want to." She could see the concern on his face. She stood up on her toes and planted a kiss on his lips. "As long as we're careful."
"Of course, I wouldn't want anything to happen to you." Ty turned on his flashlight and shined it in front of them so they could see. Ty held Kate's hand tighter. If something happened to her he didn't know what he would do.
Kate looked up to the sky and gasped. A smile spread across her face. "Look!" She pointed up to the sky. The stars were beginning to shine. They were a little hard to see, but it was always that first moment of spotting them that made her smile the widest.
"Since there aren't any light out here you can see them really well, you can even see the milkyway." Ty turned off his flash light. He heard it was beautiful, his mom an dad came here at night for dates and they always said it was some of the best ones ever.
