Becca only realised Benjamin was there when he spoke. "Yes, I'm fine. Just another fight with mum."
Becca only realised Benjamin was there when he spoke. "Yes, I'm fine. Just another fight with mum."
"I wish I could relate. Are you ready to go?" He said, ready to hop in his car.
Becca nodded.
He unlocked the door for her and started the engine. The drive there was quick and they managed to find a good parking spot. He got out the car and went to the entrance, taking his money out as he went.
"Ben! I forgot my money!"
"No problem. I can pay for you and later you can owe me a favor." He said while paying for their tickets. They put a green stamp on his wrist as he entered the place.
"Thank you Ben," Becca said after her wrist was stamped. "I can't believe I forgot."
"I always forget things. Once I forgot that there was a whole project due so on the day of, I worked on it." He said after buying cotton candy for the both of them. "What ride do you want to go on first."
Becca took the cotton candy and started to eat some. "I kinda wanna go on the ferris wheel first."
"Sure, but the wait is long and it will only get longer." He walked over to the line and it seemed like there was at least 50 people ready to ride.
"Well what do you want to do? You know I hate fast rides."
They waited in the line patiently and soon enough, it was their turn. They got inside one of the carts and waited for the cart to go up.
Becca looked out as they rose higher over the town, wide and happy grin on her face.
"I'm not really a fan of Ferris wheels because they go so slow and so high." He said, not daring to look down at the crowd below them. "We have to go on a roller coaster of some sort after this."
"Sure, let's go on a rollercoaster," Becca replied a little sarcastically. "I can be screaming in fear the whole time and vomit all over you after."
(No kidding this is legit me)
"Well, lucky for you this is a carnival not an amusement park so the closes ride to a roller coaster will be the crazy mouse which is the tracks and a seat spinning crazily around."
"Yeah I'm still not sure."
(Sorry, school and homework is getting on my last nerve.)
"It will be fun, unlike this death trap. I don't understand how people like this slow entrapment in air." Benjamin said, his face showing many types of emotions.
(omigod me)
Becca sat down next to Ben and stared at him. "What are you talking about? It gives you the best view of the town, and it's perfectly-" Just as Becca was about to finish, the ferris wheel gave a huge jolt. And not a 'just letting new people on' jolt, a 'something is really wrong but we don't know what' jolt.
"See this is what I'm talking about!" Benjamin yelled he held on to the sides of the cart and closed his eyes while saying prayers. "This is really embarrassing." Benjamin murmured. He hated the ride and then the sudden jolt made him so scared he almost jumped up.
Becca grabbed Ben's hand and squeezed it softly. "Calm down Ben. At least you're not here alone. You have me. And they'll get us down."
Benjamin took a deep breath and returned the squeeze. "Why is this even a ride, I like the fast-paced ones." Benjamin chuckled lightly at the end of it.
"Because there's people - like me - who hate fast rides and prefer slower ones like these."
"This is very unfortunate. But now I know that I will never get on this again."
"Well, I guess we'll just have to wait until it's fixed."
"How can you like this prison. We are in the air, in a cart, going slowly. It's like some horror movie."
"Because I get to see the town from a place that I don't usually," Becca said. Then she quieted down. "And my dad used to take me up as soon as he was able."
"I'm really sorry about your dad." Benjamin said "But I have an extreme fear of heights and it might sound weird with my love for roller coasters, but it's only because you're not up high for long and on Ferris Wheels, I have to deal with that. My fear of heights is so bad that if you made me stand on a regular table I would be scared out of my guts."
Becca giggled. "Remind me to make you stand on a table if you annoy me too much."
"I talk way too much." Ben laughed before continuing. "But it's gonna be hard to get me up on a table so, good luck with that."
