Ty quickly ran over to her and pulled her into a hug. "Hey, What's wrong?" He was scared for her, all the sudden she was up then down again, her breathing wasn't normal. "Kate, tell me what's wrong, is there anything I can do to help?"
She fell into his arms still sobbing. She couldn't speak. She couldn't think, she just needed the curtain. But she couldn't tell him. She tried, but she stumbled her words, breathing in between each syllable. "The, cur, cur, the cur, tains."
Ty looked up at the curtain and grabbed the end of it pulling it open. "Look." He spun her around but still held her close. "You can see the stars really well from the spot." He rested his chin on the top of her head. Now he knew something was wrong, and the only thing that can make her feel better was the stars, he knew she liked them, but didn't know the were sort of a safety thing for her.
She stared up into the stars. She felt the relief of the stars wash over her. Her breathing slowed a little, but she was she was still crying, not as much, but enough to still mess with her breathing. She fell further into Ty and closed her eyes, satisfied that the stars were there. She let his arms pull her in, almost absorbing her. As soon as she cooled down just a tad, she felt guilt wash over her. Why are you crying? His sister was just torn from his arms a few hours ago.
"So, do you want to tell me what's wrong?" Something was eating at her and he wanted to know so he could help, but if she didn't want to tell him there was nothing he could do about it. "You don't have to of course."
Kate waited a few minutes to speak to let her throat open up. She calmed down enough to speak. "I…I already told you about my mom and my sister." Her voice was already beginning to shake. "How my mom didn't love me and refused to feed me?" Her chest didn't like where she was going. "I can't say that I wasn't loved though. I mean, my dad, he loved me." Her voice faltered and got quiet. "I guess he just loved me a little more than he should have." Her chest seemed to erupt into flames, but she didn't let them envelop her. She took a shaky breath in. "He wouldn't let me leave for days on end. I'd be stuck in there. He always had the curtains closed, but my room curtains were always open. So if I saw the stars, I was safe." The flames seemed to die down.
Ty's heart sunk. Her own father. How disgraceful and disgusting. "I will never let you go back to that place again." She deserves better, and Ty was going to show her how real love felt. "You don't have to say anymore, it's fine." He got the most of what he needed to hear. She's had it way worse than him, and all he's been doing is complain these past few days about how his life was so bad. "I'm so sorry." If only he knew her earlier. He wrapped himself around her so she would feel safe. He wasn't going to let anyone hurt her ever again.
Kate didn't say anything else in fear she'd break out into sobs again. She curled up as he brought her in. She couldn't help but feel terrible. And Serra? Why did she even say anything? Especially today? Of all the days?
"It's okay, I'm here." He hoped that he made things better for her and not worse, he wouldn't be a very good boyfriend if he didn't make her feel safe and happy. "I'll open the curtains more, so how about you go lay in bed. I'll be over there in just a moment."
Kate nodded and stood up slowly, careful not to fall. She made her way to the bed eyes beginning to droop again. Everything's fine. Ty's here. She climbed onto the bed and laid on her side to face the window.
Ty opened both curtains as far as they would go and when he was done with that he made his way over to Kate. "Dobyou want me to lay down with you or sit on the bed next to you?" He didn't mind either way.
"With me." Her voice was small. She felt safer when he was close, almost like he was his own set of stars she could depend on.
Ty walked to the other side of the bed and crawled underneath the covers and pulled Kate closer to him, wrapping his whole body around her, so she felt more safe. Ty knew that if she was in trouble, he would sacrifice himself for her without hesitation.
She buried her head in his chest as he held her. She breathed deeply before closing her eyes. She listened to the sound of his heart beating. It was a warm yet firm beat. She could feel herself slipping away, but she remembered him telling her she "meant the world to him." Moments before her mind fell away, she whispered one thing: "You mean a galaxy full of stars to me." And with that, she slipped into a dreamless sleep.
Ty couldn't help but smile at what she said. "How can I leave you now?" He laughed a bit. "You Seriously have me wrapped around your finger, and here I thought that would never happen to me. You beautiful, adorable, sweet, smart human being have changed me for the better." He knew he had to leave, but staying a few more moments wouldn't hurt.
Kate snuggled closer to him in her sleep to absorb the warmth from him. She sighed deeply before becoming completely still again.

After she fully fell asleep Ty slipped out of bed and outside locking the door behind him. He started his truck and headed home. When he got there he brushed his teeth washed his face and went to bed. He was excited for school tomorrow because he could see Kate there.
Blue fearfully curled up in the seat. His father was stringing out words that could curdle all the milk in the city limits. He felt his arm tingle and scooted his sleeve to look at the words Vash had sent him. He scooped a pen, something sitting on the floor of the car for a long time now, and sketched back quickly, don’t come over. If she got hurt- Blue fell into the side of the door as his father made a particularly sharp turn very quickly. They were only a few blocks… His father pulled into the driveway, and Blue shamedly got out of the car and beelined to the house. Blue’s father was right on his tail. As soon as that door closed behind him- (Trigger warning) Pain sparked through him as a fist landed on his side. He stumbled forward, and his father slammed him again, making him fall into the living room beside old empty bottles. Pain -oh, gosh, so much pain- assaulted him again and again. His father was shouting at him, but Blue couldn’t hear anymore words after his father had kicked him square in the ear. Then the chest. Then Blue’s abdomen. Then his back. He flopped over like a rag doll with every attack.

Vash felt a sharp pain and almost crumpled to the ground gasping, no no no Blue. she quickly diled 911 and called the cops, and gave them all the detels please be okay Blue. Please.
Kate awoke two hours before she normally did. It was still dark outside, stars just starting to fade. After a few attempts to fall asleep, she eventually just got up and started her day. She took a warm shower and got herself ready. She tied her hair up into a loose ponytail just to get out of her face for now. She took her stuff and went outside, wanting to wish the stars a goodbye. She headed to the same grass patch she always sat in and laid down, admiring the stars one by one.
Ty stirred in his sleep and slowly woke up and looked at the time. He got up took a shower and getting dressed afterwards. He didn't bother brushing his hair, he was to tired for that. With everything that happened yesterday and being out so late he could pass out right now. He didn't really want to go to school, even if he was excited for it last night. "Grandma, I'm leaving." Ty texted Kate saying he was on his way. He got in his truck and headed out.
The sun was rising leaving only the brightest left. She heard her phone beep getting the message from Ty. 'Okay<3' she texted back with a smile, placing her phone back in her pocket. She turned her attention back to the sky. Everything was slowly becoming a shade of pink. The clouds were outlined not with silver, but bright colors. She sighed. The weather was supposed to be getting somewhat warmer, but she couldn't feel it. Instead, she felt the wind blow over her skin, bringing goosebumps to her bare arms. Her cheeks turned rosy. She decided to ignore the wind and only watch the sky and listen to the birds.
Ty pulled up and honked the horn. He was to tired to put in his contacts so he wore his glasses. He his was a mess and he looked extremely tired, he definitely didn't look his best. Ty laid his head on the steering wheel wearing for Kate to get in.
Kate heard the horn and stood up. She watched the sky as she walked. She opened up the truck door and pulled her eyes off to the sky and looked at Ty. He was obviously tired. She closed the door behind her and got buckled. "Are you okay?" She was concerned. I did keep him out late last night.
"Hm?" It took him a minute to realize what she had asked. "Oh, yeah, no worries. Just a bit tired." He shook his head trying to get some tiredness out. Driving while being tired is not the best thing to do. He put is foot on the gas and headed to school. Ty felt like it was the longest drive ever. Finally they pulled into the driveway and he parked the car.
She watched him as he drove. He looked like he was going to pass out on the steering wheel. Once they parked, she grabbed his hand. "Hey," concern filled her face, "Are you sure you're okay? Do you need to go home?"
"No, I'm fine." Ty hadn't been sleeping well the past few days from all the stress lately. He lifted up his glasses and rubbed his eyes. "Alright let's go." He hopped out of the truck and opened the door for Kate.
Kate got out. She was worried that Ty wouldn't be able to make it through the day. She took his hand and they started towards the school, the sun shining behind them making their shadows fall past them.
Ty walked inside the school, many people were saying hi, but didn't hear much of it. "Kate." Ty lifted her hand and put it to his forehead. "Am I hot, because I feel hot." Ty hasn't been sick in a while, and he didn't know why now all of a sudden, or maybe he really was just over tired.

Blue was lying in the corner of the room, bloodied and broken like a disappointing toy. His father had finally left when the blue and red lights flashed through the curtains. Blue couldn’t move. He couldn’t hear anything anymore, all since his father kicked him in the ear. Maybe he wouldn’t ever again. Maybe he wouldn’t be able to hear Vash talk again. Little tears dribbled out of his swollen eyes as a man, wearing a sheriff vest, walked into the room speedily.
