Cameron gasped gently. "Now, if I drop you, you might get hurt. I don't want you getting hurt."
Cameron gasped gently. "Now, if I drop you, you might get hurt. I don't want you getting hurt."
"Well, if you don't want me to get hurt, then maybe you should put me down," Lilah suggested, giving him an innocent smile.
Cameron shook his head, the grin still on his face. "I can't do that, either. Your warmth has my arms paralyzed."
Lilah frowned. "Fiiiiine," she gave in. "You can carry me."
Cameron giggled. "Thank you, my lovely lady. I promise not to drop you."
"You'd better not," Lilah warned, giving him a look from her spot in his arms.
Geez, I hope no one's looking at us funny…
Cameron chuckled. "You just might get lucky. I was thinking about putting you on my shoulders but that would make us too tall."
Not to mention that it's kind of a stretch for your relationship.
Likah raised her eyebrows. "Yeah… That… would be a little weird," she chuckled.
Cameron's grin faltered somewhat, and he resisted the urge to set her down.
Am I freaking her out?
Honestly, my guy, probably.
"Hey, chill. Let's go into that museum, shall we?" Lilah said, nodding in the direction of the doors.
Cameron glanced down at her. "I'm chill, mate." Cameron chuckled and jogged over to the doors, then pulled them open with a hand.
The museum was small, but not boring. There were broken parts of space shuttles, satellites and small pieces of meteorite and Moonrock. There were also Ice Samples from Saturn (from the rings), Jupiter (from the ring), Neptune and Pluto, rock sample from Mars, Mercury and Venus.
"Woah… Okay, now can you put me down?" Lilah asked, her attention on the artifacts.
Cameron set her down carefully, his arm lingering around her waist for a moment, until realizing and pulling it away. He shook his head then looked up at the museum with a grin.
"This is great…" He wandered over to the rock samples.
"Space!" Lilah exclaimed randomly, giggling at her own weirdness.
Cameron suddenly looked thoughtful. "Yes, this room is quite big." He laughed gently.
Lilah whapped him in the arm playfully. "You know what I meant."
Cameron chuckled and looked back at the samples. "These are really cool, Lilah. Just look! That one's the biggest chunk of ice they got from Saturn!" He pointed to an icebox with a large piece of ice, bigger than Lilah's head.
"Oof. Imagine that falling on your head… That'd suck." Lilah shuddered just thinking about it.
Cameron chuckled. "If Earth had hail like that, especially in this area, the Moon wouldn't be in the sky."
"Yeah, no kidding… Oh, look at these old star charts! They're beautiful!" Lilah declared, swiftly walking over to them.
Cameron reluctantly walked away from the ice to look at the charts, which were admittedly fascinating. "This is really cool. Too bad they're closing soon."
"What? Why?" Lilah turned quickly to face him, confusion drawing her eyebrows together.
"People aren't interested in Space anymore. They're going to pawn off all of this stuff and help the co-workers get new jobs." Cameron looked at her. "I was thinking about buying one of these things, though. Maybe these charts."
"Can't you do something about it?" Lilah asked. "Like, donate money or something? I bet that would get the people to trust you more."
Cameron put his hands in his pockets. "You saw how they wouldn't take my money. Why would they take a large check? I'd help if I could, though."
Lilah looked into the distance for a moment, seeming thoughtful. "What if… What if I did it?" she wondered. "Or what if we both did?"
Cameron blinked at her. "Yeah, I'm sure we could cash in half-and-half. It'd probably be a lot, though."
"That wouldn't matter for me," Lilah said with a shrug. She looked to him, not dating to hope he'd agree. It was a pretty ridiculous plan, anyway.
Cameron looked away. "I'd do it."
Would you?
Hell yeah.
Lilah grinned, her eyes lighting up.
"Really? You really would?"
