Cameron grinned a little. "Yeah you are," He said in a soft, caring voice.

(I think that was pretty smooth… I mean, I expected it, but… Idk, I'm not smooth either, lol.)

Lilah shook her head slowly, lifting her head to look up at him. "Thanks," she whispered.

(cries though because neither of us know)

Cameron nodded awkwardly then followed it up with, "You're welcome. Imean, don't thank me, it's true."

(Lol. Literally, my friend said a guy was checking me out, and I was basically like, "Uh huh. Sure.")

Lilah giggled. "Well, you don't look so bad yourself."

(Bruh I know that feel.)

Cameron tossed his head. "No, I'm disgusting compared to you."

"Hardly!" Lilah exclaimed with a laugh. "C'mon, you should know girls would be all over you."

Cameron scoffed. "No. Ridiculous. Why would they be?" He smiled wider nevertheless.

"Hm…" Lilah pretended to study him, looking him over. "Strong jawline, nice build, great eyes, good hair…"

Cameron turned a faint red and looked away. "Okay, okay, I get it." He cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand.

Lilah giggled, her own cheeks burning from what she'd just said.

I can't believe I said that…

Cameron tugged at his collar (with his free hand) and glanced back at Lilah. "Would you like to continue walking, or do you want to continue standing here in this conveniently placed romance scene?"

"I… I don't really care which," Lilah said softly, looking up at Cameron with a small smile.

Cameron grinned back despite his red face. "I'd rather the latter."

"Okay. So… What now?" Lilah asked.

"I…I don't know."

Lilah shrugged. "Okay."

She looked around at the garden for a moment, enjoying it, before she faced Cameron again.

Cameron's gaze jolted away from hers as she looked back at him.

Lilah frowned slightly, and her eyebrows tilted inward. Why had he looked away? She mentally shrugged it off and squeezed his hand gently.

Cameron glanced back at her with a nervous grin. He shifted his weight on the other foot.
"So uh…"

"Yes?" Lilah raised her eyebrows questioningly.

Cameron gently popped his lips. "Nothing. Just… whew…" He shook his head.

"What?" Lilah laughed. "'Whew' what?"

"Hm? Oh, nothing. Just…" He shook his head. "Nevermind." Cameron met her gaze and grinned.

Lilac blushed slightly but grinned back. She glanced at the sky and noticed that it was darkening.

"Maybe we should head back," she said reluctantly.

Dammit Cameron you can't let this chance pass.
Yes I can, Cameron hastily replied to his subconscious.

"So… Lilah…" Cameron inhaled a little and glanced up too. It was indeed darkening, but there was still time to procrastinate.

"Yeah?" Lilah asked, looking at him.

Cameron unsurely met his gaze. "Did you…"

Just say it. You got yourself in a stump already.

Oh my god kill me.

Lilah raised her eyebrows. "Did I…?" she looked at him expectantly.

"Wanna uhhhhh… You know what, nevermind." He grinned hastily.

You are one hell of a chicken.

"O-kayyyy…" If she could have looked more confused, Lilah definitely would have.
