Nate got on his bike and turned to Madeline to see if she needed help. "You look nervous. You've been on my bike before. Are you still that worried about my driving?" He joked.
Nate got on his bike and turned to Madeline to see if she needed help. "You look nervous. You've been on my bike before. Are you still that worried about my driving?" He joked.
"No, I'm good. You know how I am," Madi laughed. "I worry about the stupidest things." She climbed on behind Nate, wrapping her arms around him gently. "I'm ready."
"Okay, hold on tight." Nate revved the engine before taking off, speeding through the street. He drove to Little Ceaser's for their pizza before speeding off in the direction of his dorm.
Madeline let out a breath and tightened her grip slightly. She actually enjoyed riding with Nate, but she didn't much enjoy the danger.
"I promise I won't let anything happen to you." Nate called to her, noticing her grip tighten around his waist. They stopped at a light and Nate reached for her hand squeeze it in reassurance.
"I know you won't," Madeline whispered, unsure if he could hear her or not. She smiled when he grabbed her hand, then rested her chin in his shoulder.
He's such a good friend…
Nate smiled, feeling her relax into him. He pulled up into the motorcycle parking in front of his dorm and shut off the bike's engine. He carefully got off and turned to help Madeline.
Madi climbed off the bike and took her helmet off. She handed Nate his helmet back before shaking her hair out and running her fingers through it.
"Do you want me to carry the pizza do that you can unlock you door and stuff?" she asked.
God she's so pretty Nate thought without realizing it. He quickly snapped out of it. "Um, no, I can take it. Don't you worry." He smiled at her as he took the pizza from her hands.
"If you're sure," Madeline said with a shrug. She rubbed her fingers together, remembering the way his hand had felt on hers.
When did I start thinking like this about him? she wondered. And since when has his smile looked so nice?
Nate kept thinking about how she relaxed into his touch on his bike. He couldn't stop thinking about it. What the heck? When did this start to be something I thought about? And when did she get so beautiful? Nate couldn't focus as he fumbled for his keys, dropping them.
Madi picked the keys up and handed them to him. "When did you come such a butter-fingers?" she teased with a slight smile.
"Um…" Nate's mind blanked as he stared his keys in her hand. He grabbed them with an embarrassed smile. "Thanks Madi. Sorry about that."
"There's nothing to be sorry about," Madeline assured him with a smile. "Now, let's go eat this pizza and watch some movies!"
"What movie do you want to watch?" Nate asked as he opened the door and set the pizza down on the counter across the room. He walked over to the small book shelf that he had filled with some of his and Madeline's favorite movies to watch together.
Madeline followed him over and looked through the movies. She held one up and asked, "What about The Avengers?"
"Yes! I haven't watched that movie in so long!" Nate quickly grabbed the disk and turned on the T.V.
"Great! I'll go grab us some plates, and you can set the movie up, then," Madeline said, smiling as she started toward the kitchen.
"Alright!" Nate called after her as he put the disk in pressed play on the movie's home screen before pausing it so Madeline wouldn't miss anything. "Do you need any help?" He asked as he walked into the kitchen.
"Nope. I've got it," Madi assured him, holding out the plates she'd grabbed. She had also filled two glasses with water, so she carried one in each hand. "Ready?"
"Ready whenever you are." Nate declared, bringing the pizza box over to the table in front of the couch and opening it. He hit play on the remote and the movie began.
Madeline made her way over to the couch and sat down next to Nate, handing him a plate for his pizza. She set the glasses down on the table, then put a couple of slices of pizza onto her plate. She leaned back into the couch to enjoy the movie, resting her head on Nate's shoulder.
Nate put his arm around Madeline as she rested her head on his shoulder. With his other hand, he grabbed a couple slices of pizza and set his plate in his lap. It had been a while since they had spent time together and just relaxed, it made him realize how much he'd missed hanging out with Madeline.
(And then his roommate walks in and sees them like that, then thinks they're dating. Lol. That'd be funny.)
Madi let out a soft sigh. Gosh, she missed being able to spend time with Nate. College and her job made it difficult for her to find any free time, and she usually just went home and passed out after watching an episode of something on Netflix when she did finally get some.
This is nice. This is really nice.
(Yeah, he totally should walk in and see them like that XD)
Nate heard Madeline sigh and he looked over at her. "Is everything okay?" He asked, rubbing her arm gently with the arm he had around her.
"Of course," Madeline assured him with a smile. She hoped he couldn't see the light blush dusting her cheeks. It's not that she was embarrassed, she just couldn't help but wonder if this was normal for best friends…
"Are you sure?" Nate ask, worried that something was wrong. A sudden thought popped into his head, What it was something I did? Am I scaring her off? We always used to watch movies like this together, did something happen?
(do you want his roommate to walk in)
(Yeah, that would be hilarious.)
Madi nodded. "Yeah. I'm fine, really," she said, resting her head back on his shoulder. So what if it wasn't exactly normal? She enjoyed his company.
"As long as you're sure." Nate replied, still skeptical that it was something he had done. Just as Madeline relaxed back into him, his roommate, Isaac, walked in and noticed them on the couch.
