"You dont have to tell me if it's to much." He pulled her close and laid her head ilon his chest. "Do you want me to drop you off at Xavier's?" Maybe she would feel better if she was back there and not here with his sister and grandmother. "Whatever you need I'll do it."
She closed her eyes. "No, I want to be with you." She sniffled a little. "I'll tell you later." She backed up and have him a slightly forced smile. "This time is for your sister."
"Okay." He just held her for a moment. "Just tell me when you're ready." He wiped away a few of the tears the were left behind. "I'm here for you."
Kate breathed for a few minutes into his chest, waiting for the flow of tears to stop. "Your sister seemed so happy to see you."
"Yeah, she loves me." He laughed, still holding Kate. "I wish she could visit more, but my mom doesn't entirely like me." Sound of footsteps came around the car. "Who is this?" A small girls voice came from around the corner.
Kate broke away from Ty, surprised. She smiled to the little girl. "Hi, I'm Kate." She gave a little wave.
"Hm." Serra looked Kate up and down, then looked to Ty. "She's my girlfriend." Ty pulled Kate closer to him. "Really?" Her eyes lit up and she hugged Kate the looked up at her. "So are going to be like my big sister? I love Ty but, I've always wanted a sister!"
Kate laughed. "I- umm." She looked up to Ty. What was she supposed to say? She looked back to the little girl. "I don't know." She could immediate unsatisfactory look on her face. She smiled to the bright girl. "I mean, if that's what you would like."
"My brother is treating you well, right?" Sheblooked back at Ty and he just smiled. "He's never had a girlfriend before so you'll have to forgive him. If he ever does anything, I'll give you my number so you can get call me and I'll talk to him." She crossed her arms and gave a big smile. "Yeah, she the complete opposite of me." Ty planted a kiss on Kate's head and led her inside the house.
Kate laughed. She may be the complete opposite of you, but she's exactly like her. Somehow, seeing a memory like this made it a little bit better. "He's treating me like a queen, but I will take your number just in case." She laughed again. She poked Ty in the chest. "You never know." Kate knew from experience you make the child happy before yourself. That is, if it's in hand. "Don't let them take control of you," her last babysitting job had said. Kate followed into the house.
"Do you like dressing up? You're very pretty, so you would look Great in a dress." Serra, ran to her grandmother's room. "Sorry about her, she can be a handful sometimes." Ty watched as Serra ran off and he sat on the couch. "You can sit. Sorry it's not as fancy as Xavier's house, but it's what I call home."
"See, but I'm used to this. I felt so small in his house." She sat down next to him and held his hand. "And no need to apologize about your sister. She's an amazing little ray of sunshine." She smiled and laid her head on his shoulder.
"Yeah, shes one of the reasons I've kept going." Ty felt warm at her touch. "Sorry, my grandmother only has old people dress." Serra sat on the other side of Ty and hugged his arm. "We should go shopping sometime and Ty can carry our bags." Serra looked up at her big brother and made her eyes big and smiled. Ty clicked his tongue. "Its up to Kate if she even wants to go shopping with you."
"I'd love to go shopping with you sometime." Kate laughed and smiled at her. She'd never really gone shopping with someone else. It had always been just her searching for the cheapest thing to find so her mom wouldn't notice any money missing.
"Yay!" Serra closed her eyes and nuzzled into Ty's side. "I missed you last night." Guilt filled him up. "I know, I'm sorry I wasn't here." He kissed the top of her head and she slowly fell asleep. "She was awake all night waiting for you." His Grandma Rose walked in with a cup of water and handed it Kate. "I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier, I'm Rose." She sat back in her rocking chair after giving Kate the water.
"Oh, thank you. I'm Kate." She gave her a warm smile. She felt bad that she had kept Ty from his sister. The rocking chair made faint creaks as she sat down. Her mother used to have one just like that one. Only one difference: Rose sat in hers. Her mother didn't.
"And I hear you are Ty's girlfriend? How did this happen, I haven't heard anything about this?" It didn't come out as intimidating, just curious. "How did Ty get such a beautiful and sweet girl like you?" Rose smiled and took a sip of some tea.
Kate blushed. "Well, it's a long story, but we've only been dating for a few days." She left out the part where she had been dating his best friend, unsure of how to make it sound better than it seemed.
"Ty's always been shy, but he stands up for those he loves." Rose looked over to Serra who was now laying on Ty's lap. "She thinks of her brother as a hero. Even Serra wished she could stay here, but her mother won't allow it." Ty looked down at his sister that looked nothing like except for their icy blue eyes and smiled. He loved her a lot and would do anything for her. "Ty may seem cold, but he's all soft inside." His grandma laughed. "Okay, that's enough about me."
Kate found herself wondering why his mother wouldn't let him see his sister. It seemed pretty messed up. "Believe me, I love the soft side of him."

"Can we not talk about the soft side of me anymore." Ty tried to use his hair to cover his face. He laid his head on his sister's. "I'm going to miss her." Serra could only stay two weekends a month with them and it made him sad. "Hopefully she'll wake up soon." He kissed her forehead as she slept. "Kate darling, I need help reaching something in the kitchen do you mind?" Rose stood up and headed that way.
"I will gladly help." Kate stood up, letting go of Ty's hand. She gave him a smile before she followed behind Rose in the kitchen.
"I don't actually need your help. I just wanted him to be alone with his sister for a while." Rose smiled and sat on a stool that was in the kitchen. "Sometimes I just want to slap his mother. She's being to cruel to the boy."
"I figured. He deserves to be with her, especially after last night." She paused for a moment. She knew that Ty had protected Serra from a knife, so wouldn't that be all the more reason to keep him around? "If I may," she said hesitantly, "how come she won't let him see her that often?"

Vash awoke early so she could leave before Joe was up, something she'd been doing to avoid him. 'hey' she texted Blue hoping everything that had happened at school had cleared over.
‘Hey’ Blue texted back as he stretched. He had hung out in the library all night, not daring going home. He’d have to do it eventually, though. He added another text, ‘Are you ok?’
"Supposedly she was in love with her abusive boyfriend and blames Ty for being a murderer. I convinced her to let him see his sister at least." Rose sighed as she thought about it. "He grew up with no father figure then an abusive one. My son, his dead died when he was young, he was forced to grow up way to fast."
‘Hey’ Blue texted back as he stretched. He had hung out in the library all night, not daring going home. He’d have to do it eventually, though. He added another text, ‘Are you ok?’
'better then you. Brake your back in that chair yet?' She joked. Vash knew he'd been staying at the library and she felt bad. But its not like she could do much about it.
Blue laughed a little, ‘I’m fine, I fell asleep to reading’ Blue glanced at the book in his lap, ‘Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. It was pretty good.’ Blue chuckled as he sent to message, then stood up. She was okay, that’s all that mattered. He slung his bag over his shoulder, then started heading out.
