(*runs around screaming**)
(does the same)
(ok so. How about we pretend the diner never happened, and we start at the beginning of the club scene?)
(Sure, why not)
(Okie dokie let's try this again)
(oki den)
Kasumi swayed her hips to the music as she sang, smiling as she let her eyes sweep out across the club audience. Strangely, this was like a second home to her. She loved the anonymity her mask afforded her and the whole bass-boosted atmosphere of the club.
Max was in the back of the club, quietly drinking his drink, while his friend was talking to some people. His friend had forced him to come here so he could be more 'social.'
Even though there were a lot of people filling the club, Kasumi was able to spot a few of her friends. Waving to them, she smiled and continued singing as she wandered around the circular stage.
Max kept drinking his drink while quietly humming along to the song with a small smile. He kept glancing at his friend who had probably forgotten about him.
Stepping close to one edge of the stage as she sang, Kasumi suddenly felt someone grab her ankle. She looked down to see an obviously intoxicated man holding onto her ankle. She stopped singing and tried to back away, shaking her foot, but he held on tightly, so she did the natural thing in that situation: She screamed.
Max stood up to see what was happening and walked over to the intoxicated man, pushing him away from the singer, "What do you think you're doing?"
Kasumi scrambled back as the strange man pushed the drunk one away from her.
"Jus' admiring the pertty lady," the drunken man slurred. "Wus wrong wit dat?"
"That doesn't mean you grab her ankle and put her in potential danger." He said, glaring at the man and glancing at the girl to see if she was okay.
Kasumi looked back at the man through her mask, nodding that she was alright. Well, alright enough, anyway.
The drunk man stumbled back and put up his hands in mock surrender. "M'kay, m'kay, she's all yours, pal," he slurred with a grin, before stumbling over to the bar for yet another drink.
Max blushed slightly and quietly went back to his friend who was staring at him in disbelief.
Kasumi watched both the men walk away, then stood up. "Alrighty everyone, this is going to be my last song for tonight, it's called 'Gold,'" she said, smiling at the audience, able to well conceal her remaining shock and anxiety. Beginning to sing, she looked over at one of the tables and saw the man who had helped her.
Max was quietly sipping his drink while humming along to the song again. His friend was talking to someone and had probably forgotten him already.
After she finished the song and took a quick bow, Kasumi made her way off the stage and over to the bar. "I'll take a coke, please," she told the bartender with a smile. The nice thing about being the entertainment was you got free non-alcoholic beverages, a perk Kasumi took full advantage of.
Max kept sipping his drink while scrolling through random stuff on his phone to pass time. He glanced at his friend every so often who was having the best time of his life.
Looking back over at the table where she had seen her rescuer, Kasumi noticed he was still there. She picked up her drink and made her way through the crowd over to him.
Max was still looking at random stuff to pass time.
"Um, hi," Kasumi greets the stranger with an awkward wave. "Thanks for helping me out earlier."
Max glanced up from his phone and smiled brightly at the woman, "No problem."
"If you don't mind me asking, why did you help me?" Kasumi asked, tilting her head.
"Because you would have gotten hurt or something." Max answered, taking a sip of his drink.
"Wouldn't be the first time something like this happened, but it's a first for someone to help," Kasumi said.
"Really? I'm surprised," Max replied.
Kasumi shrugged. "Not that it happens often, just that it's happened. Usually they back off, coincidentally get pushed away by the crowd, or I kick them."
