“Death is going to make us do a lot of dirty work, but I might get some people to help us with that.” He led her past the bookshelves and pointed at a door.
“Through here is Life’s office. We need to go through there in order to get to Death.” He walked forward and rapped on the door.
(Did you want to play a God?)
(if you want me to but i don't really know what you want them to be like)
(Well I feel like I’m being selfish by taking all of the Gods. I know how I want them to be, but I don’t want to deprive you of chance.)
(no no you're not being selfish. I actually like not being in charge of stuff like that. )
North nodded and followed behind him to the door.
The door was opened to reveal a lavishly dressed man in an impeccable white tux and floofy white hair with see through silver eyes.
“Yes?” He asked in a pompous and oddly high pitched voice, laced in a British accent.
“We need to see Death, Life.”
Life grinned at M. “How are you doing, good chap?”
North surveyed Life, frowning slightly.
M shook his head. “I just need to see Death.”
“Alrioght no need to get pushy. Just across the office, I did some redecorating…”
M led North to a big black door across the office, as Life said, and hesitated outside of it.
(alrioght?)
"C'mon." She said, knocking on the door and glancing over at M.
(He’s british)
M sighed and pushed the door open. Inside was a lavishly dressed slick black room, with weirdly black solid walls. No one was inside.
“Thank Gods he’s not-“
“What do you two need?” Asked a deep voice from behind them.
North turned around, startled. "Wow you really know how to make an entrance." She muttered.
Death was tall and gangly. He had the same shade of hair of the walls in his room, and it covered his eyes completely. He was oddly pale and skinny, though. He also had a wide smile on his face.
“Thank you,” He said impassively, his smile not faltering to meet the tone, “what do you two need? Has Insanity sent you… possibly?”
“Yes, he has.” M’s voice was stiff and harsh, which one would find to be odd, since Death seems like the type of person M would like.
"He said something about, well, y'know i'm not going to bother trying to explain cause honestly I have no idea what's going on." She said, taking a step back, her hands held tight behind her back.
M grabbed North so she was standing next to him. “Insanity has sent us to do some work.”
Death rubbed his chin. “Yes… I needed someone to find the Element Orbs… when Zackary passed they all spread out again…”
M glared fiercely at a Death. “Jeez, give us a harder job! Let’s go, North.” M started walking without saying goodbye to Death.
"Nope." North yanked M back into the room. "You can't hold a grudge the rest of your life, get over yourself already."
M shook her off. “What I have with Death, and what he’s done to me will forever hold him a criminal.”
“You can’t blame me for doing my job, M,” Death said softly.
“Yes. I. Can.” M growled stiffly.
"That was so long ago. What else could he have done? Death is a reality M you can't hide from it."
“North, shut up.” Proof that someone can get through M’s skull… “We’re going, now.”
"Do you know how many people i've lost, wishing it had been me instead of them?! Things happen for a reason! You can't go back and fix something that's broken because it's over and you have to deal with what comes afterwards instead of focusing on the past!" She yelled, her hands clenched tightly at her sides.
“North,” M barked harshly, sounding angrier and more human than what she’d heard him before. “Let’s go, or I’m leaving you back at home and doing this by myself.”
"You just want me to go because you know what i'm saying is true!" She yelled, backing a couple steps into the room.
“Fine! Stay here, I don’t care!” M’s voice had gotten hysterical and muffled, though he were about to cry. “I’m leaving, and unless you want to stay here for the rest of your goddamned days, you’ll come with me!”
"Why would you think I want to stay here? Of course i'm coming with you."
“Then stop mulling over my choices and come on!” M turned heel and continued walking through Life’s office.
North followed him reluctantly and glanced back at Death before walking out of his office.
Death raised a hand to her as she glanced back, then turned into his room.
M lead her into the library in angry, upset silence.
North kept her head down as they walked. She didn't regret saying what she did. He deserved to know.
