Liam zoomed his camera in in the scene and grinned at what he saw. More photographers arrived.

The thief rolled his eyes and pulled the trigger. A bullet whizzed over Kasey's right shoulder, and she mentally drew the pens she had found toward herself.
"I guess that's the hard way, then," she said, shooting a pen at the man.
Gasps sounded from outside, the police moving in a little more, guns aimed. Liam felt so helpless just standing there.
Another shot went past Kasey's right arm, nearly grazing her but not quite touching. She flinched and shot a second pen at the robber, this one hitting him in the leg. The man yelled and shot at Kinesie wildly, missing her abdomen by a foot.
Liam winced at the scene, trying to take as many clear photos as he could
"If you put the gun down and go with the authorities, this'll be over," Kinesie called, pointing another pen at the man.
With a pained laugh, he shot at her again, this time actually hitting her. The bullet tore through her left arm, just below her elbow.
Kasey let out an exclamation of pain and shock, then shot the pen at the mans hand. The robber dropped his weapon, clutching his hand. Using her powers, Kasey lifted the gun and brought it over to herself. She held it in her hand and slowly walked toward the thief.
"Lay down and put your hands behind your back," she directed him through her teeth.
It was only then that the police barged in, aiming their guns at the man, “Get down on then ground or we shoot!”
Dropping to his knees, the man put his hands in the air. He glared at Kinesie as he laid on the floor and put his hands behind his back.
"I swear I'll get you for this," he growled.
Kasey raised an eyebrow. "Good luck with that. With that stunt you just pulled, you'll be locked away for a long time." She lowered the gun and nodded to the police. "He's all yours."
“Thanks, you’ve saved us again.” The officer said before he started barking orders at the other officers.
Liam stood outside and flashed some more photos before deciding he had enough and heading home.
Kinesie nodded and left the building. She checked around before heading back to the alley she had left her bag in, cursing when she didn't find it.
Someone must have stolen it. Dang it, I can't believe it! What am I supposed to do now?
You've got telekinetic powers. Just use them to get something from your room.
Oh. Right. Actually, no, that wouldn't work unless I could see what I needed to grab.
"Ugh…" she groaned out loud, pulling her hat off and squeezing it in her hands.
Liam made his way back to his apartment, once inside, he sat down at his computer and uploaded his photos.
Maybe if I just take off my outer layers and go home in the basics, no one will recognize me… Well, I suppose that's my best plan.
With her choice made, Kasey pulled her jacket off, careful not to hurt her injured arm. She slipped her skirt off so that she was just wearing her leggings and top, then she tied the jacket around her waist, stuffing the hat in one of the pockets. The skirt, she folded and held in her hands as she walked back to her room.
Liam sighed and ran a hand through his hair, flicking through the photos. Closing his computer down, he walked over to the couch and put the tv on
Thankfully, no one recognized her as Kinesie as she walked down the street, so she made it to her apartment without incident. It was only once she reached the door that she realized that her keys were in her bag, and she groaned.
How was she supposed to get inside without–
Wait, I keep a spare on top of the door!
With a sigh of relief, Kasey stood on her tiptoes and brushed her fingers across the top of the doorframe. When she felt the cold metal of her key, she smiled and grabbed it. She quickly unlocked her door and slipped inside, sliding down the door after it was closed.
That could have been bad. What if Liam had come out and seen me wearing this? He would have known something was up.
(I've gtg for the night. It's getting late, and I need to get up early. Sorry!)
(It’s fine, see you later!)
Liam flicked through the channels on the television, every news station reporting on the recent robbery. The screen froze for a moment and Liam swore. A curse of the terrible connection here. When he looked on the screen, Kinesie’s prictired showed, comething erily familiar about her. He shook his head, thinking he was imagining things and the news continued.
After taking a few deep breaths, Kasey stood up and walked to her bathroom. She'd need to clean the bullet wound in her arm and staunch the bleeding.
Her medical kit was underneath the sink, and she reached down to pull it out. Kasey pulled out some antiseptic and held her arm over the sink, preparing herself for how much it would sting. She breathed in and poured the clear liquid over the wound, hissing out a breath from between her teeth.
Ginger tiptoed into the room and sat by the door, watching her person as she put some antibacterial cream on her wound and then wrapped it in a bandage.
"I'm going to have to wear long sleeves for a while," Kasey mused.
Liam sighed and turned the tv off. Walking over to the kitchen, he grabbed himself a glass of water before heading to his computer. Frowned at the screen, he sat down ready to work even if he didn’t want too.
Kasey had picked Ginger up, careful of her arm, and carried her to her bedroom. She laid down on her bed and set the cat down, which almost immediately crawled up to the pillow beside Kasey's head. Exhausted, the heroine closed her eyes and fell asleep to the soothing sound of purring.
It was well into the evening when Liam finally turned his computer off. Yawing, he went to his room, Mortem following along beside him. He changed and went to sleep, Mortem lying at his feet.
(Aaaaaaand… Time-skip.)
A rough, wet tongue brushing across Kasey's forehead woke her up. She groaned and reached her arm up to push the cat away, sucking in a sharp breath when her arm stung.
"Ouch…" she groaned, pushing herself into a sitting position with her good arm.
Liam awoke and slipped out of bed, trying not to wake Mortem. Rubbing his face he walked into the kitchen to make himself some coffee. Lord, he had not slept that night and needed the caffeine in his system.
Kasey rubbed the sleep from her eyes before getting up and heading to the bathroom. Once the door was shut behind her, she started to peel the bandage off, biting her lip to keep from shouting in pain. It had nearly soaked through, which wasn't surprising considering that there were only two layers of gauze over the wound.
As soon as her arm was free of the gauze, Kasey turned the water in her shower on, making sure to keep it gentle. She stuck her arm under the water to wash it. When she was satisfied with its cleanliness, she pulled out more antibacterial cream to put on the wound. After rubbing some of that on, Kasey wrapped her arm once again.
His eye still hurt and Liam reapplied the bruis cream onto his eye. Sighing, he sipped his coffee and walked to the couch, Mortem following. He sat on the couch, his cat curling at his side as he flicked on the tv screen.
With a heavy sigh, Kasey walked out to the kitchen, where Ginger was meowing her head off. The cat must have wanted to be fed. Unfortunately, Kasey's mind-reading skills didn't span to anything other than humans.
She filled the cat's dish before making her own breakfast, along with a pot of coffee. While she waited for the coffee to brew, she sat down on her couch with a bowl of cereal and turned on the TV.
The weather, political news, the weather again, local news, more local news… So far, nothing she would have to deal with.
Thank goodness…
Liam hummed to himself and grabbed his phone. He didn’t have anything to do today and wondered if Kasey was free.
Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today? The botanical gardens are open, do you want to come with me? -L
Kasey had fallen back asleep on the couch after finishing her breakfast, so she was awoken by her phone ringing from a text. She pulled it out of her pocket and checked who it was.
KASEY: Sure, why not? What time?
Liam smiled down at his phone. He stroked Mortem before replying.
Uh, how about midday?
KASEY: Sounds good. Are we going to meet there or what?
Kasey stood up from the couch and walked into the kitchen to pour herself some coffee. Once she had a mug in her hands, she sat at the table with a book.
We can walk over together if you want too? Or just meet there, up to you.
Liam flicked the tv channels, before giving up and turning Netflix on and finding the show he wanted to watch,
