(I'm sorry about that! and, heads up, I won't be on a lot during the weekends)

Max quietly walked down the sidewalk, he currently had his glasses on instead of his contacts, with his books in his arms and his backpack slung over his shoulder.

(It's totally fine, don't worry about it.)
Jess heard footsteps coming around the corner. A guy was walking towards them. She could have sworn she'd seen him somewhere before…

Max kept walking as he pushed up his glasses which were sliding off his nose, he looked around and quickly looked away when he saw Jess. Nope nope nope, she can't be here, whyyyy, oh god, wait and she was talking to another guy? Yep, I'm dead, I should stop trying to talk to her. He thought while blushing slightly, still looking away.

@Every_Fandom_Ever_

He looked away, making it impossible to tell if she did. He looked really familiar though. As he got closer, she recognized the figure. Once he reached them she turned slightly away from Jake. "Hey, Max." She smiled.

Max jumped slightly and smiled back at her. "Hey, Jess."

“Hey,” Jake added as if to remind them he was there. He looked at the new guy. He kinda looked… nerdy. Jake held out a hand, “I’m Jake.”

Max shook his hand while smiling, "Nice to meet you, I'm Max."

Deleted user

“I assume you two know each other?” Jake looked from Max to Jess.

She looked at Max. "Yeah, just a little bit." Jess could hear the bus coming around the corner. "Looks like the bus is here." The bus pulled up and they walked on. She sat down at the last seat near the window. The seats were cold to the touch.

Deleted user

“Can I sit with you?” Jake asked casually as he walked behind her after he got on the bus.

Max followed them and sat in the back near a window, he looked out the window and sighed while fiddling with the hem of his shirt.

@Every_Fandom_Ever_

"I- sure." She scooted so her leg was up against the bus wall. Max sat in the seat beside them and looked out the window. Jess couldn't help but feel bad as he sat alone.

Max nervously kept fiddling with the hem of his shirt while looking out the window.

“So what classes do you have?” Jake tried to spark a conversation.

@Every_Fandom_Ever_

Jess looked at him, startled. "I-umm. I have English first. Then math, science, and orchestra. After lunch I have history, yearbook, and I have debate. You?"
(Sorry I just kinda filled it, I didn't know what exactly to put in)

Deleted user

“I have English too, looks like I get to share homeroom with you,” Jake smiled at her, “I also have history and debate with you, sounds like,” Jake added, recalling his schedule.

Max took out his book and started reading, it was Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, his favorite book.

@Every_Fandom_Ever_

Jess looked over at Max to make sure he was okay. In his hands was Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. "Hey," she said, "I love that book!" She had only read it once a few years ago and in-between then and now had been filled with so many other amazing books, but she remembered the feeling of reading it. Laying down in bed, forgetting that she was in the real world and thinking she was in the Oasis. That's how a good book should feel.

Deleted user

Max glanced up from his book and smiled at her, "I know right, I wish the OASIS was a real thing."

@Every_Fandom_Ever_

She smiled back at him. "Yeah me too." She looked down at her lap where her hands were sitting. It felt like they were frozen in a block of ice. She rubbed them together a little to warm them up. Why are my hands the easiest to freeze?

"Who's your favorite character?" His heart skipped a beat when Jess smiled at him and he blushed slightly, hoping it looked like his cheeks were pink because of the cold.

@Every_Fandom_Ever_

She looked to him. "How could I choose just one?" She smiled up at the ceiling. "The characters all have so much more depth than anyone would think. Each character truly amazes me. What about you?"

Deleted user

"I don't know, it's either Wade or Helen for me." He said after thinking for a few moments.

@Every_Fandom_Ever_

She laughed thinking about the characters. "Yeah…" She closed her eyes as she looked up. After a few seconds she opened them, looking back at Max. "What are your other favorite books?"

She laughed thinking about the characters. "Yeah…" She closed her eyes as she looked up. After a few seconds she opened them, looking back at Max. "What are your other favorite books?"

"I've read almost all of Rick Riordan's books, and the Maze Runner. I've started reading Harry Potter and I'm planning to read the Hunger Games after that." He answered with a small smile on his face.

“What’s the book about?” Jake asked casually, trying to worm his way into the conversation. The book looked interesting enough, but Jake wasn’t much of a reader.

(This is prolly a better place for it now)

@Every_Fandom_Ever_

(It's totally okay) She smiled wide at Max. "I love all of those." She then looked at Jake. "It's this great dystopian book about so many different things. Ernest Cline just uses strands of wishes to weave a basket in which it holds reality. You should read it."

Deleted user

"That description was better than what I could have said, I probably would have made the book sound terrible." He said with a slight laugh as he bushed slightly again when Jess smiled at him.
