"By the way have you seen Kate today?" He was searching everywhere but couldn't find her. "I've crossed paths with her a few times." Beth said looking around trying to help Xavier find her. "We don't have many classes together though." Beth's voice came out a bit sad when she said that. "She's over there." Ty pointed to and empty table. Xavier loved having a super tall friend. "Thanks." He took his tray and sold into the seat across from her. "Hey."
Kate looked up, startled. "Oh," she smiled. "I couldn't find you."
"Ty found you for me." He laughed. "Perks of having a tell friend I guess." Not the Xavier was short in the least, in fact he was pretty tall himself. "How did you sleep?"
She laughed with him. "I slept nicely. Maybe too nicely. I woke up late and had to rush to school. I didn't want to walk in late to Mr.Harrison's so I waited until second period." She smiled up at him. "And you after your walk home?"
Oh no don't cry she thought as she got up and reached across the table to hug him. "Everything's gonna be okay."

Blue leaned into the hug and confessed, trying to hold in the tears, “I don’t know what to do anymore about it.”
Vash pulled back and looked at him, "you could stay at my house for a while if you wanted, let things blow over a bit?"
“I- I wouldn’t mind that, but-“ he’d be a burden, he’d be unwanted, he- Blue closed his eyes tight so he wouldn’t cry in front of everyone. He shoulders shook slightly, and he took a deep breath and opened his eyes. Vash was still there, Blue reminded himself. He asked weakly, “Won’t I be a burden?”
"Of course not! I'll just text my fos- my dad and tell him I have a friend staying over tonight." She thought back to the morning and how she pretty much said she was running away but she didn't want blue stuck in his house with his father. "We can go to your house after school and pick some things up for you if you want." She did her reassuring smile and sat back down. "Everythings gonna be alright" she said still smiling.
“Thank you Vash,” She didn’t even know how grateful he was, “Thank you so much.” Blue felt so relieved, so not have to stay the night, just to be able to take some time to heal. Blue wiped at his eyes and brought a smile to his face before saying on more time, “Thank you.”
"No problem, you're like a life long friend" vash pulled out her phone and texted her foster father I'm your problem till I turn 18 but as soon as you hit me again I'm gone. She looked up at blue, "here give me your phone, let me put my number in"
Blue pulled his flip phone out sheepishly, “It’s kinda old and ratty,” He said quietly, his voice a little hoarse.
Vash punched her number in and handed him his phone back. "Meet outside after school at the flag poll?"
"I fell right to sleep. Woke up early like usual though." Xavier took another bite of his food. It was gross and he didn't like it but he was hungry. "I'm glad you slept well."

“Yeah. I would like that,” Blue said holding his phone carefully as if it was gold after she put her number in. He slid it into his pocket and double checked it wouldn’t fall out. He made a small smile, “Thank you for- Well for listening to me. I guess I just really needed to tell someone and your the first person to find out about it.”

He finally laughed “wanna hang out with me for the rest of the day?” He asked
"Yeah, I wouldn't want to leave you alone to sulk by that bench again." Ash giggled, thinking back to where she'd met him just a few minutes before.
"What do you ant to do next?" he asked as the ride startwd

"Yeah." She looked down at her food, unsure what to say. "Oh," she looked up in realization. She took the jacket off and off with it came to warmth she'd felt all morning. "Here's your jacket." She handed it to him over the table.
"Thank you." Xavier took it from Kate and put it on himself. "Did you bring a jacket today?" He didn't want her getting cold. Maybe I should give the jacket back.
"I- uh, no." She looked to him. "Since I accidentally left it at home yesterday and my mom…" Her voice trailed off. "But I'll be fine, honestly."
