Blue followed her happy to get out. As he closed the door, his father made a wheezing laugh followed by him dropping the bottle accompanied by the sound of breaking glas. Blue was glad he didn’t have to deal with that mess. He followed Vash to her house.
Vash opened the door and let blue in "so my dads at work and won't be back-" she was cut off by her foster dad "vash you little-" "DAD! you're home early" she shouted not wanting blue to know "dad this is blue he'll be staying for a while" she smiled. But this time the smile looked almost forced. And she seemed to spit the word dad out. "Blue this is my dad. Dad this is blue. Yes I've made friends already. And yes school was good today." She kinda pushed blue to her room not wanting to be around her foster father at the moment.
Blue walked into her room, startled by the interaction. It felt like their was some kind of invisible tension between Vash and her father. He gave Vash a questioning look.
"I'm really bad at picking things. So, I'll do anything you want." He smiled and wiped a bit of sweat from his forehead. Even if it was cold out, he ran for a while. Hopefully it wasn't to gross.
Blue walked into her room, startled by the interaction. It felt like their was some kind of invisible tension between Vash and her father. He gave Vash a questioning look.
Vash laughed it off, trying to ignore the look blue was giving her. "So after you get settled in we could go and get something to eat if you wanted- not like a date though. Like a friend date." Vash's face became a bright red. He's gonna think you're a weirdo, she told herself.
“I wouldn’t mind a regular date,” Blue said before he could think. He froze, and he face became a bright red, “I- I mean- Oh geez- I’m, um, sorry.”
Vash laughed releasing some of the tenchen she had from talking to her foster father. "A regular date huh? Where to then?" She couldn't help but think his awkwardness was cute. And even thought they didn't know each Other very well yet she felt connected to him some how. And honestly it scared her.
“I…” Gosh, Blue was absolutely lost. He had no idea what do to with his hands, no idea what to say, and no idea how to even react. She had just said yes. Blue opened his mouth, closed it, then opened it again, “I -um- this has never happened before and I, uh, don’t know. So maybe -uh- a cafe somewhere or -er- something.”
Vash gave him a small smile "do I have to look nice for thus date?" She asked jokingly "but like jokes aside, I have no idea where any good cafes are here. Do you?"
“You look nice already,” Blue said immediately, then turned a deeper shade of red, “I -uh- only know the one by the park.”
"I- uh," she put her face in her hands smiling like an idiot. No one had really ever told her she looked nice before. "To the park then?" She looked back up her face almost as red as Blues.
“Yeah,” Blue said, trying to school his face into something that looked calm. It probably looked like he just got injected with Botox. Blue set down his bag and still didn’t know what to do with his hands.
"Right I almost forgot I'll go grab a air mattress from the garage" vash left the room. She returned after a few short minutes with an air mattress and a pump. Alrighty! She thought setting it down. "We can pump it up now or later if you'd like."
“Um, we can do it now I guess,” Blue said, the heat still in his face. He fiddled around with the pump and the air mattress, having a little bit of difficulties.
Vash watched him trying to put the pump into the mattress. "Want some help?" She asked giggling a bit. She had blown air mattresses up many times before as she didn't always have a normal bed in some homes.
“I- um, sure,” Blue said with a laugh. Gosh, he was so flustered he couldn’t even blow up an air mattress. Blue laughed again, shaking his head at himself.
Vash pumped up the mattress till it looked full. "Alrighty, there you go." She laughed little. Vash had never been on a date before and was honestly excited. "Shall we go then?"
“Yeah,” Blue replied as his pulse increased and butterflies entered his stomach. He shouldn’t be nervous, he should just digest those stupid butterflies, but… Nervous was always part of Blue’s life. He smiled with a nod and repeated, “Yeah, let’s go.”
When they arrived at the cafe vash felt more and more nervous. Calm down she told herself. Its just your very first date. Nothing to worror about. (I'm going to assume this cafe has outside seats.) "So where do you wanna sit?" She asked blue shyly.
“I…” Blue was absolutely forgetting how to speak. He ended up just sitting down in the chair closest to him, looking at Vash trying to say something like ‘How about here!’ but ended up saying, “Here. Nice,” And making a stupid thumbs-up. He was an absolute mess.
She held in a laugh and sat across from him. "First date too huh?" She asked. Do all people act like that on dates? she thought this only happened in movies. Vash almost laughed at her own thoughts.
"Me too! So maybe we do have classes together." she smiled, taking a bite of her soft pretzel.
Liam smiled and chewed “this is really good! Although it could use a little more salt.”

Blue swallowed and nodded his head. The waitress came up, “What would you two like to drink?”
Blue, his tongue tied, could at least order, “A water for me please.”
Vash looked to the waiter and felt a sudden rush of anxiety. She wasn't good at talking to people when it came to ordering food. Or anything else for that matter. "Um- a um w-water too please" she looked down at her hands. Gosh she probably seemed rude.
The waiter left, and Blue looked at his menu, while asked, “Umm… What are you -uh- thinking of getting?”
"Right! The food," vash opened a menu rather fast and smaked herself in the face it. "Well lets see, there's the- you've eaten here before right? Surprise me." She smiled putting the menu down and rubbed her face where the menu had attacked her.
“A-Are you okay?” Blue asked with a shaky laugh, daring meet her eyes.
"I can see it now. The next big horror movie. 'when menus attack'" vash laughed at her statement. "And for the record I'm quite fine" she had to refrain from laughing more in fear they'd get kicked out.
Blue burst out laughing, and then it faded into a smile, “This is really fun. I’m glad that-“ Blue stopped talking when the waitress came with waters and to take their orders. Blue gave an apologetic look, “We’ll take two crêpes of the month.” The waitress walked off and then Blue looked at Vash, “I hope you like crepes?”
Liam smiled and chewed “this is really good! Although it could use a little more salt.”

"What isn't broken, doesn't need fixing." Ash replied, taking another bite of her soft pretzel.
