The clank noise startled her and from the looks of it, blue too. "Oh wow okay. This is a first" she said somewhat out of breath As she looked over to blue. "You okay?"

Xavier saw how worried she looked. Wrapping his arm around her he cover her eyes and laid her head on his shoulder. "It's fine." He said in a shooting voice. "What's your favorite thing to do around here?" Xavier tried to distract her from what was going on.
Kate tried to breathe. She wasn't sure if it was being stuck up in the middle of the air or the fact that the butterflies had moved to her lungs from his touch. So many thoughts roamed her head, she couldn't hear anything. She knew he had said something but she wasn't sure what. It had all been jumbled. Her chest ached for air and she desperately tried to give it, every muscle in her body still tensed with pain.
“No.” Blue answered immediately. He completely forgot about his arm, “No. This is not okay. Not okay.” Blue would’ve been shaking if he was holding onto the small cart so hard, “We are going to die.”
"Hey you're okay, we're not gonna die." Pushing aside her own fear she reached out for his hand "its fine, this happens sometimes" vash took in a shaky breath trying to calm her self too, "you're gonna be fine" she smiled reassuringly
She scared. Xavier pulled her closer. If she didn't want to talk he won't force her. It always calmed him down when someone was around if he was having trouble with something. "I promise nothing will happen." Though it scared him, he looked down and saw they were doing everything they could to fix it.

Blue gripped her hand tightly, focusing on her eyes. It would be alright, it would be alright. Blue felt like he couldn’t breathe. He opened his mouth. He needed to get his mind off it, “I- I’m scared. I- My father he- he wouldn’t ever take me to anywhere fun like this. He- Well, I- he didn’t- he doesn’t like me.” Blue rambled, his grip tightening on the cart.
Kate heard his words and told herself to breathe. For a slit second, all the tension was released. But what if… And suddenly she couldn't breathe again. She leaned in more towards him. She'd inhale for a split second and then exhale. Just breathe! No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't.
Vash blew a puff of air in his face, "hey, You're okay, calm down. Think for something else. Like some where you like to be." She continued to smile.
Blue slowly calmed himself, focused not on where he wanted to be, but he focused of Vash. He glanced at the tattoo-like marking on his arm. What did she think of it? He looked back to Vash.
"Okay, now what do you mean by your dad doesn't like you?" She searched for answers in his eyes. What did he mean, She wondered.
"Kate, you have to relax." He hated telling her that, but her breathing wasn't normal. What can I do to make her forget this and calm down? He didn't want to uncover her eyes because that might make it worse. "Kate, if you can tell me to do something that will make you feel more at ease, please tell me."
"Okay, now what do you mean by your dad doesn't like you?" She searched for answers in his eyes. What did he mean, She wondered.
Blue kept he breathing even. He had never explained to anyone about his father and his relationship. Maybe it was the fear, or maybe it was the feeling that he could trust her, but Blue started, “My father…” Blue didn’t know how to explain though. He slowly released his grip on the cart and rolled up his sleeve. His upper arm was black and blue and purple and green all over, the bruises mostly from this morning and a few nights ago. Blue looked away, ashamed.
Vash's eyes widdened and she thought back to her last foster family how they would do the same. Anger rose up and she didn't know what to do. "Oh my gosh…" Was all she could whisper out. "Look um, I know we just met but if you ever need to escape him. My house is always open."
“I-“ I can’t escape him, Blue was about to say. But if he could… The idea in its entirety distracted Blue from the situation around them. It was just him, and Vash, and the offer. Blue looked up at her, their eyes meeting. Silver rimmed his eyes, but he promised himself he wouldn’t cry, “I would like that a lot.”
"I-" her voice soft and timid, "I don't know." The fact that he cared made her slow down a bit, not completely, but still a little bit. "Just-" her voice cracked and she knew that if she tried to talk anymore she'd cry. Just hold me tight.
"Or even if you need me to I could come over" she felt heat rise to her face. "Now, I'm sure we'll be off this death trap any second now" she smiled and relaxed a little.
Blue let himself relax too, but he didn’t let go of her hand for some odd reason. He felt a lot better, actually, after he’d been able to talk to her. Blue glanced down at his arm, them looked at her for some kind of response to it. It had just appeared out of no where, “Um…”
Vash looked down at his arm too "oh wow, you have a tattoo to?" She asked confused.
“I-“ Blue struggled for an answer, “Yes?” The way his voice rose in unsureness made Blue sound like a question.
"Don't worry, I'm here." Xavier steady his breathing, so maybe she could match it. As soon as he said that the ride stared to move again. Xavier jerked forward a bit when it started, but smiled. "See what did I tell you." He uncovered her eyes and let go.
"Cool! What's it of?" She asked even though he sounded unsure himself"
(Woops didn't mean to put the " at the end sorry. 😅)

As the light returned, so did her normal breathing. The ride continued down and she sat up. All around, the sky had darkened to where the main sources of light were the colorful lights that approached. "Thank you," she said.
"Anytime." He laid his head against the ride. Thank goodness. Xavier tried his best to stay calm during that whole situation. All that matter to him at the time was that Kate was fine.
"Cool! What's it of?" She asked even though he sounded unsure himself"
“I… I don’t exactly know…” Blue trailed off, looking at the intricate lines wrapping around his arm, “Abstract, I guess.” Blue tried to laugh it off.
