"You don't like rollercoasters?" He didn't want to leave anyone out. "Don't worry I'll keep her company." Ty walked up next to Kate and smiled. "Yeah, no, I don't think so." Xavier dragged him away from her. There was no way he was going to let Ty near her. "Blue, do you want to try." Xavier saw that Blue wanted to try it and if he did Xavier would go on it with him.
“I-I don’t have to. I would enjoy doing whatever, really,” Blue responded, looking away from the rollarcoaster to the other rides. They all seemed fun.
She looked back at Blue. "Blue," she smiled. "You should go."
"Yeah Blue let's go." Xavier didn't want to go by himself, that would be to lame. "Even if it's just once."
“Okay,” Blue said, then looked up at Xavier and confessed quietly, “I- I’ve never been on a rollercoaster before though.”
"It will be fine." He tapped his shoulder. "Let's go." He said as he dragged Ty along. "Why am I going?" When they were far enough away Xavier answered Ty. "Because I don't trust you."
As the others walked away, Kate sat down at a table nearby. She took a moment to take in everything. The lights, the laughter, the music. everything. She closed her eyes. the wind felt cool on her skin. then his smile came to mind. What am I doing to myself? Kate thought. She looked down. Not like it's going to happen. You just met.
Blue hesitantly got on the ride first and sat down. He bit his lip as he waited for Xavier and Ty to get in. He strapped himself in and tapped his finger absentmindedly.
"It will be fine." He said getting in the seat next to Blue. Ty sat behind them pouting because Xavier made him come. "Is everyone ready?" The person controlling the ride asked. Shouts filled the air and Xavier was one of those people.
Kate could hear the excited shouts of the passengers. A part of her wished she was brave enough to go on one, the other half was completely terrified for what lay in store for them. She shivered at the thought of racing through the air. they should be fine. She forced herself to breathe and instead look at the sky. It was a magnificent shade of orange, the sun just beginning to set.
'They should be fine.' Xavier heard and turned to Blue. "Did you say something?" He was sure he heard him say that. Xavier pushed on the bar of the ride making sure it was locked.
“Um, no, I didn’t say anything,” Blue responded. He was about to say something else, but the ride started and he clamped his mouth shut.
The ride started going up a tall track. When it went over the peak, it stopped only a second before it plummeted down. Blue, instinctively, grabbed Xavier’s arm tightly and gripped the edge of the seat with white knuckles. The wind whooshed his blue hair back, something he wasn’t used to either which made him more nervous.
//Oof, sorry I’m late, let me change that
As the roller coaster took off, the people's screams were covered with the sound of the carts on the rails. Kate forced herself to think of something else. Trees…Books…Umm…Really good candy…
Xavier jumped when Blue grabbed his arm. This guy is a lot stronger then he looks. Ow. Xavier had a smile on his face the entire time. He forgot how fun this was!
Blue could barely hear his own thoughts over the wind and screams. He forced his body into the corner of the seat, sliding his foot to his corner of the seat and wedging it there. He stared wide eyed at the loop coming up which would take them upside down. He grinding his teeth and tightened his grip on the seat.
Nothing could take her mind off the coaster as it climbed higher into the sky. Why don't I buy a churro? she thought. Yeah. A churro sounds good. She got up and began towards the cart that sold the cinnamon and sugar goodness.
"Churro?" The voice just kept coming to his head. The rollercoaster did the loop then pulled back in to the starting spot. "How did you like it?" Xavier got out and waited for Blue and Ty.
Blue sat frozen in his seat for a few seconds before peeling himself away from it, shakily walking off of the ride, “I -uh- that was—“ Blue sucked in a breath, “A lot.”
It was like Kate was on the ride herself. No matter where she went. She could feel the wind rushing past her face, blowing her hair back. Me and my imagination… She finished the churro quickly, seeing the ride was just letting out. throwing away her trash she walked over to where Xavier and them were standing.
"I'm sorry, we should have taken it slow." Xavier felt bad. He's the one that wanted to go on it and dragged blue along. "We'll go on something slower next."
As Kate came close she could see Blue shaking just a bit. "You okay there, Blue?" That was a bad ride to start him on…
"I know it was, I apologize." I need to think things through more. I know you are excited Xavier, but need need to chill a bit. he ran a hand through his hair.
“I’m okay,” Blue forced out a breathy sigh. His hair was still blown back. He nodded as if to affirm it, “It was-“ Then Blue snorted. And then he couldn’t stop laughing, “Geez, I’m such a dork,” Blue tipped his head back, running his hand through his hair, “That was probably the wildest thing I’ve ever done! And it’s just-“ Blue burst into more laughter. It was a rich, genuine laugh he wasn’t used to. He shook his head, but the smile didn’t leave his eyes as he repeated, “I’m such a dork.”
Kate could swear she was hearing voices in her head. Something about thinking things through… "We can try something slower if you want."
(I have to go to bed, same as last night, you can do either, gn)
(Night!)
“No, I’m fine,” Blue chuckled again, “I just can’t believe-“ He sighed, cutting himself off, but a small smile stayed on his face. He combed his hair back to its usual position with his fingers, so it fell in his face.
"By your reaction, I'm going to guess you enjoyed it." Xavier looked around and looked for the next ride. All he knew is that on the Farris wheel he was going on with Kate.
