(sheesh, I get a decent amount of sleep for once and suddenly there's an entire page to catch up on)

Meun felt his face redden a tad. "Would you…um. Would you let me stay with you for a day?" he asked August

(Decent sleep? Haha what is that??)

"If you want. We might have to share a bed though." August said, picking up a fry from Meun's plate.

(lmao idk, I went to bed at 10 and that's decent for me)

"That would be alright. It's better than the gas station floor," Meun chuckled as he took a sip of his milkshake

(Nah I have insomnia so I try and fall asleep at a normal time and end up lying awake for hours/waking up at every small noise and not falling back asleep/waking up early)

"Great. Fair warning though, don't go in the pool. Or talk to the tourists. Half the time I'm convinced that they're really local cryptids in human form." August said. He hadn't actually gotten food, but he was completely fine with stealing fries off Meun's plate.

(yeah I just have a weird sleep schedule where I'll normally go to sleep around midnight and then wake early, then fall asleep randomly in different places throughout the day lol)

"Isn't that the thing with all tourists though?" Meun chuckled. "They really all look like a bunch of directionless crackheads who took one too many hits."

August looked down to hide his smile. "True." He said, taking another fry.

There was a fit of loud barking from outside, and Riverpaw rushed back into the diner with Tsunami in her arms, who was growling and trying to get back to the door. Riverpaw went back to the table, her head down, and she scooted up close to the nearest person and whimpered.

"Riv? What's up?" Belle asked, giving the girl a worried look.

"N-nothing, just…th-there was a creepy-looking g-guy outside. Tsuna went up to him, s-so I let him pet her, b-but then he started talking to me a-and asking me questions, and I freaked out. I-I…kinda punched him in the stomach, a-and I think Tsuna bit him."

August glared over at Rigel. "Is he one of your "friends"?" He asked.

Belle bit back a wry smirk. "Well, at least we know you can defend yourself."

Riverpaw smiled, and lifted Tsunami to hide her face. "Y-Yeah…"

Meun's eyes widened a tad. He didn't want anything bad happening to Riverpaw, and he had half a mind to go see what he could do about that man

August glared over at Rigel. "Is he one of your "friends"?" He asked.

Rigel looked up, the swelling from his eye worse, and mumbled, “I suppose you could call him that.”

Tsunami barked again, and Riverpaw shushed her, looking up at Rigel. "U-um, Rigel, you have…a-are you hurt?"

Shoot. It was probably already bruising. Rigel brought up his usually joking tone and replied casually, “Nah, I’m fine. Just a little brawl.”
When Rigel sat down the pain in his ribs betrayed him because he needed to slump, but he gave a toothy grin to try and hide it.

(Wait what happened?)

(Well, Rigel got into a brawl out back (He now has a bruise forming on his eye), and the guy he got into a brawl with, Ren, scared Riverpaw and she punched him and Tsunami bit Ren too.)

"A-a little brawl? Come on, Rigel, you know I have an eye for these things. Uh, n-no pun intended."

“I really asked for it, I mean, Ren’s not that bad unless you get to know him, I used to be friends with him,” Rigel started rambling, “But, used to are the key words. Now we’re just more of associates.”

"I don't like him." Riverpaw scooted closer to get a better look at Rigel's eye. "I-I didn't bring my medkit…"

“No, no, it’s fine,” Rigel waved an idle hand at her, but kept his other hand on his ribs, then reassured, “I really deserved it.”

"…O-okay. Sorry."

Rigel smirked, “Don’t be sorry. If anyone should be sorry, it’s me for how Ren freaked you out,” The greenie employee finally brought a bottle of cool water and Rigel put it on his face with a small wince.
