Rigel looked at the ground, “I have a debt to Alfonzo. I don’t really have much of a choice in the end,” Rigel forced the laugh, the jesting tone, but he was sure the others saw right through it.

Rigel felt his shoulders stiffen went he heard what August said. Of course, he couldn’t expect them to not want to know, just… He never actually told anyone the truth before. And he didn’t want to lie to his friends. He chewed the inside of his cheek and took another sip of water.

Riverpaw side-eyed Rigel, taking note of his mannerisms. She wouldn't bother him, but there was clearly something more to his situation that he didn't want to tell. She took a sip of her drink and sat back, hoping August really would get him to talk about it.

Man, one of the kids just would not listen tonight!)
Belle glared at August as he continued to steal her fries. She was tempted to shove the rest of them in her mouth simply to keep him from eating them, but she preferred not to choke on her food. After casting a worried glance at Rigel, she pulled the fries into her lap. That way, August would really have to be trying to get to them.

(I started to get kinda stressed out about it, and one of the other kids did get stressed out… She's the girl out of two girls, the second oldest out of five kids. Poor girl.
Lol. I mean, the kids can be great, and all, but if they don't listen… Whelp, then here comes stressed babysitter.)
