I know how m8

For the third time that night Kendra woke up gasping, after another meeting with the demon-like man. His raspy faint voice still whispered in her ears, even when awake, "Please… help me…"

Kendra sat straight up and was panting. She was sitting in a pool of sweat and crying. She always cried when she had these nightmares.
“How am I even supposed to help you?” She asked herself.

He merely repeated himself… "Help…" His voice grew faint and he was gone. The nightmares were getting more intense now. She started seeing flashes of him during the day, just… sitting down waiting for her… or something… to happen.

She continued to cry.
“I don’t know how to help you” She croaked.
Kendra got out of bed and took off her sweat soaked sheets, tossing them in the corner with another set of sheets to be washed. She pulled a clean set from her closet and quickly remade her bed then climbed in, still crying.

"Help me… help me… I… I need to find them…" That was new.

She heard him gasp, as though for air. "Them… they're…" He grabbed himself in a hug and his neck twitched to the side.

He turned his head suddenly to the side as if to shield himself from something. Through his thin brown hair, she could see the lighter of his gray eyes dilated in fear.

She closed her eyes and rolled over trying to push him fron her mind and thinking about something good. It wasn’t working. She got out of bed and ran downstairs to the kitchen.

The kitchen was empty and the man had gone silent. The eerie green light on the stove's clock read 3:48.

Kendra turned the light on and walked over to her island and put her head in her hands.
what the hell os going on? she thought. She stood like that for a few minutes then decided to make some coffee.

The man stayed silent, which was quite rare for him these days. She enjoyed her coffee in moderate peace.

When she finished she decided to go upstairs and shower. It was almost 5 o clock and she had to get up in 30 minutes for work anyway.
guess I can make myself look a little more appealing and less like I got 2 hours of sleep she thought as she headed upstairs.

The man shivered and groaned gently. "Please… stop…"

He shivered even more violently and shut his eyes. Tears spread down his cheeks and he curled up into himself. "Don't… hurt them…"

The cold shower awakened her senses and she was able to concentrate on more pressing matters than a man who wouldn't talk to her.

(umm hmm)

As soon as she got dressed and felt somewhat at peace, the man stirred in her mind and sobbed dryly, reminding her of his presence.

He shivered on the ground and dug his overlong fingernails into his faded arms. It bled gently and he didn't respond.

Deleted user

He squeezed his eyes shut and he threw his hands up to his ears as if her screaming caused him physical pain.

He shivered on the ground and muttered something indistinct.
