"It's nicer than it was, and actually clean for once." she giggled.
"It's nicer than it was, and actually clean for once." she giggled.
"Yeah, Apollo did a really nice job. He also replaced some furnishings, and I'm really proud of him for that… You'll have to meet him now." He grinned at her and ate some egg.
"He seems nice."
"Yeah, apart from being my twin, he's great."
(i'm going to bed, have a good night! I'll be on a lot tomorrow)
(It's fine, g'night!)
"Siblings are annoying sometimes, I feel ya."
(Hello!)
Havenwood grinned appreciatively and continued eating the egg, feeling confused about the texture.
"This… is so weird… I've never actually had mortal food before."
"First time for everything." she said, but since she had a mouthful of toast it came out as "Fah tah fo' evahfing."
Havenwood chuckled gently before taking a bite of bacon before pulling it away to stare at it, looking amazed.
"Wh-what is this? It's delicious!"
"Bacon. It's bacon."
"Fascinating." He took another small nibble.
"It's really not that special at all, it's just normal food."
Havenwood shrugged. "It's great."
"Yeah, I suppose it is." she said. Then, suddenly, she had an idea. "Havenwood, would you like to meet my family? I dunno, it's an idiotic idea but I have been telling them about my new job-well, not too much, don't worry-and they've been asking a lot about you. So I just thought….. well, you don't have to, I was just thinking….." she trailed off.
"Oh, sure." Havenwood grinned at her and quickly finished the food, which he found to be amazing. "Shall we go now?"
"What? Now? I meant in a week or so, it takes a while to arrange things!" she stammered.
"I… alright, I was thinking that you already had stuff planned." Havenwood raised his hands.
Geez mortals are so disorganized…
"I generally wait until people actually agree to things to plan them."
"Makes sense, I suppose." Havenwood let his hands down.
"Well, next week Friday would work, that's when Pedro has a day off from his job, and I could call my parents to see what time works for them before making anything official….." Maria said, running through plans in her head.
Havenwood made a silent note in his head of the days she planned. Will I have to dress up… Nice? Will they expect me to tell them I'm a God? Am I… actually worried about this?
"Well, I suppose we should get to work." she said, this time extending her own hand.
"Oh, yes." Havenwood rose and grabbed her hand. They appeared in the cave and began work.
(Do you want to time skip to when he meets her family?)
(Sure!)
(So it's a week or two later and he knocked on her door)
"Maria? Um… it's 10:30…"
"Yes, I know. Coming!" she said. Maria was wearing a white tube top and a leather jacket along with a pair of jeans and tall brown heeled boots. It was a rather stylish look.
Havenwood waited outside, feeling out of place. He wasn't wearing his usual hoodie, but a dress shirt and a pale brown suit coat. He wore white pants and white dress shoes. It looked quite nice, considering his white hair and gray eyes.
"Alright…" Havenwood looked uncomfortably around again.
Maria walked outside, grabbed two helmets, and hopped onto her motorcycle. "Put that on and sit behind me, this thing can carry two people." she said, tossing him a helmet.
"Uh… okay…" He awkwardly fit the helmet on and followed her to the motorcycle and sat behind her, feeling even more out of place then what he felt comfortable with.
Maria started the motorcycle, driving for fifteen minutes when she pulled up to a large, two story house in a suburban area. An portly older woman who was a few inches short walked up to Maria and Havenwood, a humongous smile on her face. "Hello querido*! And who is this?" she asked, looking to Havenwood.
*Querido means "Darling"
Havenwood bowed and kissed the woman's hand graciously. "I am Havenwood, señora. It's so very nice to meet you." He straightened up, hoping he didn't look as nervous as he felt.
