River's eyes opened a bit before he responded, "Okay."

"And… we were really good friends. We were actually planning to meet up tonight. But… this morning, at, like 5 o'clock, he dumped me." Abby brushed a tear off her cheek. She couldn't believe that she was telling him this.

River frowned as he put a hand on her shoulder consolingly, "I'm sorry that happened to you. Do you want a hug?"

Abby sniffed and wiped her eyes again. "Sure."

River leaned over and gave her a big hug. Anyone who just dumps someone, especially when they were meeting up later, was a douche.

Tara sighed. Her eyes fluttered shut again.

"Are you going to fall asleep?" Darren whispered.

"Mm…I don't know…" Tara whispered back.

He smiled and put his head back, "You can if you need to. Unless you want to go home…"

Tara frowned. "I don't wanna go home….but I should….."

"You don't have to but if you want to I can take you,"

"…." Tara sighed. "I don't know…."

River leaned over and gave her a big hug. Anyone who just dumps someone, especially when they were meeting up later, was a douche.

Abby accepted the hug and cried hysterically into his shoulder. After a few moments, she released him, but still stayed close. "Sorry," she whispered, dabbing at her eyes.

River let go of her as he gave her a small smile, "It's fine. Don't worry about it."

"It's just…" Abby looked at her hands and closed her eyes. "I've never told anyone before."

River nodded slowly, "And that's fine. You wanted to keep it private."

"I was acting so weird today," she reflected. "They probably know something's wrong. And being roommates with Tara, she pester me all night till I tell her, so…"

River chuckled a little before clearing his throat, "That does not sound like a position you want to be in."

"Nope," Abby agreed with a laugh. Another tear slipped down her cheek.

River smiled at her, "Anything else you need to get off your chest? Not pushing or anything."

Abby bit her lip. "I'm afraid of dolphins!" she revealed.

River let out a short laugh before responding, "Your afraid of dolphins?"

Abby nodded. "I've never told Tara because i was afraid that she would hate me. You know how much she loves…"

River smiled at her, "Dolphins? I don't think she would hate. Maybe find it a little weird, yeah. But definitely not hate worthy."

"But she LOVES dolphins. And she always kind of assumed that i did too." Regret was the only clear tone in Abby's voice.

River laughed a little, "So? It was a misunderstanding that's all right?"
