River barely heard it, but he heard enough to whisper back, "Never."

Abby was so close to him, that in her reply, his lips tickled hers. "Promise?"

"Promise, should we seal it with a kiss?" He could feel her lips almost against his as his hands gently wrapped around her.

"I… I don't see why not," Abby murmured shyly. She let herself move closer to him and slide her arms around his neck.

River smiled slightly before his eyes closed. He gently kissed her lips, trying not to appear forceful.

Abby could feel herself melting into him. She liked the softness of his touch. It contrasted Erik's so much, she was slightly taken aback.

River held her mid back. He wouldn't go any farther unless he got permission. He didn't want to be like Erik, not that he was. Just now, he was more cautious.

Take it slow, don't rush. She relaxed, knowing that River wouldn't be anything at all like Erik had been.

River let out a soft sigh against her lips. Abby had relaxed, he wasn't like Erik. Better slow than commanding.

Abby decided to go for it. She quickly poked him in the side of the ribs and broke the kiss with a giggle.

River let out a quick laugh before looking at her. He said in a teasing tone, "Why you! I'll have revenge for that you hear!"

"I'm so scared!" Abby tried to keep a straight face. She was almost about to break.

River was beaming. He quickly poked her side, "There! Be afraid no more!"

Abby giggled furiously, flinching to protect her side. "Stop!"

"Okay!" River was chuckling, "I've stopped see!"

His hands moved by his face.

Abby reached out and poked both of his sides at once with a little giggle.

River reached out and poked both of hers, "Now we're even."

Abby squealed. "Fine…"

River laughed, "So what now? Wait for Tara? Or do you need me to go?"

"Stay?" she asked quickly. "Please?"

River gave her a soft smile, "I can do that."

"Thank you," Abby said slowly. "Just until Tara comes then?"

"I can do that," River nodded slowly.

Abby felt her phone buzz. Thinking it was Tara, she clicked it on.

Hey, babe Sorry if we got off on the wrong foot or whatever last night. I want to make it up to u. I rlly do. Meet me out behind ur marine building in a hour okay? Please? Love u 😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘

Abby opened her mouth to say something to River about the text when another quickly rang in.

River looked at her, "Was it Tara?"

"Uh… uh… yeah. No! No, I mean… ye- NO!" She quickly handed him her phone and showed him the messages.

River's face grew concerned as he read the messages he looked back up at her, "Don't go."

"I'm scared. If I don't go, what will he do?" Abby's voice wavered with uncertainty.

"He can't do anything," River said with uncertainty, "Also have you thought about blocking his number?"

Abby looked at the screen of her phone. It chimed.
