he sat at home quietly reading. his phone not that far away from him.

Arianna picked up her phone, dialing Ethan's number.

The police were not yet notified, and the murder happened on an abandoned street; it would take a while to find his body.

he heard his phone ringing and saw it was arianna's contact and he picked up. "hello?"

"Ethan, is Eki at your place?" Arianna asked.

One of the looming streetlights flickered off. It was dead dark. The only way someone would find Eki's body was if they stepped on it.

"No, is everything ok with you two?" he asked confusedly

"Yes, I'm just worried. Bye." She hung up. Where is he?! She grabbed a flashlight and exited her house, searching for Ezekiel.

He quickly entered Eki's phone number and waited for someone to answer

Eki's phone went straight to voicemail; and he wasn't found anywhere in the home.

"Ezekiel!" Arianna shouted. She turned down a street. "Eki!"

He grabbed his coat and ran out of the house to look.

Eki hadn't had much to run, so he was only a few streets away. Soon the pair met and looked down the shady road. Even sooner they found him murdered on the ground.

"Ezekiel?" he asked

Arianna gasped, choking back a sob.

Ethan trodded on his limp hand, and Arianna stepped in something warm.

He stepped back and quickly got out his phone and dialed 911.

Arianna started openly sobbing, too stunned to do anything else.

You have died with a passion burning in your chest…

He got of the phone and kneeled down to look.

Arianna started to say something, but was too choked up to be coherent.

May you rise… live the life you were destined for…

"t-the emergency services are on their way" he stuttered

She nodded.

These bullets in your shoulder and head shall become no more… no one but you and those who killed you will remember your death…
