Paris stood at the snack table and watched he boys playing a food game. She wanted to slap them silly for making Brennan eat Wasabi. She loves sushi and had a high heat tolerance so Wasabi was nothing for her but knew most people couldn’t handle it. She chuckled as Brennan went flying towards the drinks and then busied herself with salami rolls and bagel dip. She put some of each on a plate and went back to the table and found Madylin with a soda for each of them and some cookies on a plate for herself.
“Thanks” Paris said smiling glad to get off her feet from dancing with her best friend.
“Always sister!” Madylin said snatching a salami roll for Paris’ plate as she took a seat and they both giggled.
“Did you see the boys playing that horrid game?” Paris asked.
“Yes, and that was a bad joke they pulled on Brennan. But I think we should play sometime. It looks like a lot of fun.”
“True” Paris said bitting into a salami roll, “But I won’t wasabi you I promise”
The girls burst into a fit of soft laughter as they ate.
Brennan returned to the group, “I don’t think I’ll be able to taste anything for a while,” He grinned, and his friends laughed. Brennan made the next player eat a large amount of horseradish at once inside of a hot pepper, which sent his friend hurling for a trash can and water. Brennan grinned at his friends with a fake maniac smile.
“Who’s next?” Vanessa asked as she sat down fairly close to Brennan.
Paris and Madylin ate fairly quickly. When Paris looked past Madylin she saw Vanessa sitting inches fro Brennan and wanted to shove her over and sit between them.
“I think we should go now.” Paris said through gritted teeth.
“What why?” Madylin said following Paris’ gaze. “Oh. How could he let that ugly slut sit so close to him. He’s gonna catch her airborne herpes or something.” She joked trying to lighten the mood.
“I’m going.” Paris said standing up and taking her trash, and Madylins, to the garbage can. Madylin hurried behind her friend and they walked inside towards the elevator.
Brennan was getting annoyed with Vanessa. She kept on leaning on his shoulder and playfully touching him. He was starting to feel a little uncomfortable. Brennan looked to his friends, “I think I’ll go. I’m getting tired.” Vanessa seemed to perk up even more.
“I’ll come with you!” She said, her hand touching his thigh. He abruptly stood up and away from her.
“I’m tired, I think I’ll go alone,” Brennan reaffirmed and started speed walking away. He heard Jay start talking to Vanessa instead. He’d have to thank his best friend later for that. He made it to the elevator as the doors were just about to close, “Wait,” He said and jammed his foot between the doors, which opened immediately afterwards. He stepped in to find a familiar face that brought a smile to his face, “Oh, hi.”
Paris still had a half scowl on her face when the doors where more or less thrown back open but couldn’t help but smile at him.when she realized who it was. Brennan’s smile could make everyone’s heads turn his way and it had become on of Paris’ favorite things.
“Hi” Paris said.
“Hi there” Madylin chimed in reminding them they had someone else in the elevator.
Brennan stepped in the elevator and pressed his floor, “Fun party, right?” Brennan asked casually as he smoothed his shirt.
“Sure” Paris said. “Would has been more fun if Vanessa hadn’t been there though”
“I agree. What floor Brennan?” Madylin said from the elevator buttons. “I’m Madylin by the way”

“Vanessa was…” Brennan could say an endless amount of words to fill in the blank, annoying, obtrusive, stuck up, insensitive, but he looked a Madylin and Paris and settled for, “Vanessa wasn’t the greatest.”
Brennan sighed, feeling the need to take a shower after Vanessa had tugged on him so much. He shook his head slightly to himself, then looked back up to Paris, “But the dancing was fun.”
“Agreed. But someone” she fake coughed and glanced at Madylin “made me dance for like 2 straight hours and my feet are killing me”
Madylin looked at the pair with a guilty smile.
(Darn, got to get to bed)
Brennan laughed, “How long have you two known each other?” They were clearly friends…
“Since birth. Our dads were best friends since they were little. We’ve been close since we could breath. And our moms gave birth a week apart.” Paris explained. The elevator reached he floor they were all getting off of.
Brennan let Paris and Madylin get out ahead of him, “Wow. You two are really close. That’s pretty cool.”
“Sometimes though, we’d tather rip each other’s hair out” Madylin said, “But I still love her anyway.”
“My moms not around anymore though. My parents divorced when I was 10 and my dad remarried to my step dad. Then well my mom uh, went uptown.” Paris said, avoiding eye contact.
“Oh,” Brennan said, “I’m sorry. That’s… terrible.” He felt like it came out awkward, but he was at his room anyways, “This is it. I hope I can see you tomorrow. Maybe we can text?” Brennan asked hoping she’d give him her number.
“Sure!” She said looking up. She pulled her phone out so they could exchange numbers.
Brennan smiled as he made her a contact, then said his goodbyes and went into his room happily. Tonight turned out to be a good night.
Paris and Madylin walked down the hall a few doors and then walked into their own room. Madylins parents didn’t care when’re the girls went as long as they were together, but they had no way of knowing because they didn’t share a room. There was a door separating the two rooms that Madylin and Paris could lock. So the girls walked into the room and immediately threw themselves into bed. They didn’t care to change or shower because they were both tired and their feet hurt. Within 20 minutes they were both sleeping like babies.
Brennan found himself in the pool again the next day, hanging out with Jay, “So what’s with you and Vanessa?” Jay asked.
Brennan sighed, “Nothing really. She just keeps hanging around me.”
“Just keeps hanging around you? She’s pretty forward,” Jay pointed out.
Brennan tilted his head back and ran his hand through his hair, “She really just won’t leave I guess,” There was more to be said, but Brennan didn’t open his mouth on the fact any longer, “I met a girl yesterday.”
“Oh. Oh. I see. You thinking about two-timing them?”
“No! No, no,” Brennan shook his head, apalled, “No. It’s just Paris is really nice. I like her.”
“And you don’t like Vanessa?” Jay asked with a sly look.
Brennan sighed again, “Well, yeah, I like her, but-“
“Well that’s all there is to it. Vanessa and you are a good thing, I wouldn’t try to mess it up,” Jay told him. Brennan nodded reluctantly. Maybe he could text Paris later…
Paris and Madylin woke up the next morning and got in the shower due to smeared mascara and bed head. When they finished they ate a small breakfast and decided to go down to the pool again. It was their favorite spot. Paris put on a pair of shorts over her bikini bottoms and Madylin did the same with her one pice.
“We look like basic white girls” Madylin said.
Paris chuckled, “good thing I don’t care!” She grabbed a key card, her phone and a towel and walked out of the room Madylin on her heels.
“Going to talk to your boyfriend today?” Madylin teased.
“Mads, you know it’s not like that. He’s not my boyfriend. I’m like 95% sure he’s with Vamessa” Paris said entering the elevator. The girls bickered the whole ride down and to the doors that lead outside.
“Look there he is. No Vanessa either. If I were her I’d be with him at all times claiming my territory. But she’s no where to be seen” Madylin pointed out as they arrived at two open chairs.
“Fair enough”
Brennan sighed, but then saw Paris and Madylin. He started to grin and wave, earning a questioning look from Jay. Brennan gave a friendly glare, “We can at least be friends with them.”
“We?”
“Hey, Paris! Madylin! I want you to meet my friend Jay!” Brennan called with a mischievous grin. Jay shoved him and Brennan shoved him back quickly with a smile. Jay frowned and crossed his arms.
Paris and Madylin turned and saw Brennan with another guy.
“He’s cute” Madylin said sliding off her shorts.
“Eh” Paris said doing the same.
They walked over and slide down and into the pool and swam over the the two boys.
“Hi I’m Madylin, and this is my best friend Paris” Madylin did with a grin.
“Oh, I’m Jay,” Jay replied, looking at Paris and Madylin long enough to acknowledge them, but then he gave Brennan a look.
Brennan ignored it and said in a gentlemanly voice, “Nice to see you again on this fine day.”
“Did we turn into the queeens of England? You don’t have to be so uh what’s the word” Madylin said, smiling all the less.
“Polite maybe?” Paris said, an eyebrow raised.
“Well it’s only for you two beautiful ladies,” Brennan continued in his gentmanly voice, “I only wish to-“
“Brennan!” A perky voice appeared out of no where as Vanessa walked up and slid into the pool between Brennan and Paris, “I’ve been looking all over for you Brennan! What did you think of my party last night? Wasn’t it amazing?” Vanessa turned so her back faced Madylin and Paris.
“Um, yeah Vanessa, it was pretty fun. The dancing was great,” Brennan said, wishing Vanessa wasn’t so… Vanessa. He swam around her slightly to include Paris and Madylin in the conversation, “What did you two think?”
“It was a great party. I danced my butt off, I was so fitted when we got back to our room” Paris said with a fake smile.
“Thanks for the invite, one of the best party’s five been to in a long time” Madylin continued, Mimicing Paris’ fake smile.
“Oh yes, don’t I plan the best parties!” Vanessa exclaimed, the she swam next to Brennan and leaned on his shoulder, “I sure you certainly think so, Brennan. Too bad we never got to dance though, we should’ve gone and done that after that disgusting food game you and your friends were playing.”
“Hey! I was not disgusting,” Jay said with mock hurt then went on with a not-so-accurate British accent, “It was exquisite!”
Brennan frowned slightly as he tried to shift away from Vanessa but she kept on buzzing around him like a fly.
