So I got this idea from a photo I saw

One mermaid/man is an outcast. Lives by theirselves and so on. This is because the rest of the mermaid world thinks they are evil. They have a black tail, everything.
The other mermaid/man is a super happy, bubbly character and one day gets into trouble and the ‘bad’ mermaid saves them. The good mermaid, decides to repay them but eventually they fall in love so on.

Yeah, I just need a friend right now

(That’s fine)
Emrys was minding his own business when he heard a yell of some women not the far away from him. He rolled his eyes but… it wouldn’t hurt to be nice for once. He hurriedly swam to where the women was and stopped in front of her, blocking her from the shark’s view.

Kayla was startled by a man suddenly in front of her but silently thanks him. The shark tries to get around to her and she cowers.

Emrys let out a low growl and the shark did the same. He raised himself up to make himself look bigger and snarled again, the shark snapping at his face but swimming away.

"Thank you so much," Kayla said. "Wait…… Aren't you Emrys?"

"You don't seem as bad as they say," She said softly.

Emrys rolled his eyes, “Don’t mistake one deed of kindness as my entire character. I’m glad to know people are still talking about me. Do people still think I eat sharks eyes?” He let out a harsh laugh, “Trust me, I’m exactly as they say.” He turned and started to swim away.

"My name's Kayla!" Kayla called after him, but saw that it fell on deaf ears. She started to swim back, forgetting what she had to do before.

Kayla shot a quick glance back at him and then kept swimming. She took a light gem out of her bag and help it up so she could see.
