Dani lifted her head to look at Zander. Nope. Why?

"Ace!" Blake snapped out of his thoughts and scrambled to his brother's side, biting his lip with worry. "Quit pulling out the wires." Blake grumbled as a nurse already rushed by the start reattaching them.

Blake nodded and grabbed a bunch of pillows and set them up, gently lifting Ace so he could rest on them without exerting too much effort. "You're health is still pretty fragile so just bear with the doctors, alright?" He pleaded, sinking tiredly back into the chair.

The conversation kind of went like this:
Him: "Your sister asked me out on a date for you."
Me: "I know."
Him: "Do you like Harry Potter?"
Me: "Yes!"
Him: "Awesome! Okay, what about Marvel? Or Stranger Things?"
Me: "Love them!"
Him: (silent)
Me: "Hello?"
Him: "So, I guess we're going on a date."
(hangs up)

Ace nodded, "They fixed my ears, right, man?"

I feel like a little girl again. Dani transmitted to Zander.

"No more blood, so I'm going to say yes. I don't really know what's going on to be honest. I had to fight just to stay here with you. Got my nicely preened feathers all ruffled." Blake whined playfully, resting his head on the edge of the hospital bed and staring up at Ace.

I'm hoping those were fun times otherwise I'm going to have to rethink my plan to woo you off your feet Zander thought playfully, sitting next to her.

Ace reached a trembling hand to pat Blake's hair, "Can I braid it?" his face had a wistful look to it, like he was dreaming of cheeseburgers and ike cream again.

"Yeah." Blake moved the chair closer to Ace, careful not to disturb and wires or machinery. He sat there awkwardly, unsure of where Ace wanted him.

Dani laughed. For the most part. There was a hint of sadness in her tone of thought, and a few stray memories of David's death flashed through her mind.

Zander kissed her forehead.So if I think of me whispering, is it actually like me whispering ?

Dani nodded. Yeah. Pretty much.

Ace struggled to turn to the side, his body not really responding and the wires refusing to let go of his left wrist. "Y-you don't happen to have a hair-tie, do you?"

Blake grabbed one out of his pocket, handing it to Ace. "The magic closet thing just puts them in my pockets at this point." He pretended to be annoyed. Seeing Ace's struggle to move Blake rested his head in Ace's lap, using his own arms as a makeshift pillow.

Have you ever not heard someone's thoughts ? Zander asked.

My uncle. She shuddered. I could never figure out why. Memories of him flashed through her head. She shoved them away.

Ace grinned and began separating three strands, interweaving them and crossing them as he talked, "I was dead for a while. But my mother said I was only mostly dead and the Kameo made a reference to his favorite movie, The Princess Bride, fun fact, he cried when Wesley leaves every. Single. Time." Ace laughed, "I didn't stay with the long and then I was dreaming about cheeseburgers and no one's getting me a cheeseburger and I swear birds are nice, but Thomas Jefferson likes potatoes and corsets don't feel to good. I like kangaroos that eat cream, but sometimes when the monkey shows up it gets weird, right?" Blake listened as Ace babbled nonsense.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make to think of that (person born out of wedlock). I shouldn't have brought it up. Zander shifted his arm to be around Dani to comfort her.
