Zackary glared at her. "Anyway, we'll be back up. I'm just going to go check on Xanthe and Cameron."
Ari glared at him briefly. "You'd better be back up. Or I'll drag you back up from there an-"
"AND dowwn we go!" Zackary interrupted his husband and opened the door to the basement.
North laughed a little and followed Zackary down the stairs.
Zackary led her down the steps into the cool basement. There was nothing too extraordinary, let alone two sleeping people. Zackary turned to a bit of wall and waved his hands while murmuring weird incantations. Suddenly, a lavish door appeared. Zackary opened it and inside was a spacious office, and cool bookshelves of orbs, viles, creatures squeaking in cages, and other cool artifacts that glowed and flickered in the darkness of Zackary's office.
"They're just through here." He led her through a smaller door, which opened up to a small bedroom with two beds and medical equipment. In the darkness, North could hardly see her parents.
"Their still asleep then.." She said quietly.
(Damn right)
"I suppose." Zackary slowly turned up the lights. North could hear the steady beep beep of two heart monitors. They were somewhat out of sync with one another; considering one was a woman and the other a man.
North stared quietly down at the two sleeping figures. "Will they ever wake up?"
"They might." The light reached its slight peak. She was looking down at a beautiful woman, who had the shape of her eyes and lips. She had dark brown hair and looked extremely at peace when asleep. She was grunting quietly and occasionally smiling.
"Thank you Zackary..for everything." North said smiling down at her parents.
"You're welcome." His voice came from near Cameron's bedside, where he was adjusting the IV dropper.
(are they gonna wake up or no??)
(Yes my god be patient. xD)
Occasionally Cameron's right hand would twitch as if he knew his daughter was standing so close. Xanthe's eyelids fluttered slowly and her heart rate grew faster. North heard footsteps as Zackary walked over.
(gr :)
North sat down next to the bed and took her mothers hand gently.
Xanthe coughed and inhaled deeply before her dark blue eyes snapped open.
North wiped off a tear that was rolling down her face and held in a sob.
Zackary's face had shock written all over it, despite predicting them to awaken soon.
"Xanthe?"
Xanthe gasped again and moved her hands around. "I-I'm alive?" She asked in a voice close to North's.
"Yes. Xanthe, you're… alive!"
The sob escaped North's lips as she heard Xanthe speaking.
Xanthe twitched to sit up, and Zackary quickly reached over and helped her up. "Xanthe," He spoke in a hushed whisper, "North's here." He gestured over.
Xanthe looked at her daughter and reached forward. "N-North… Oh, my Gods…" She sounded heavily emotional. Clearly, she was also under the same emotional strain as North.
"H-hi..mother." She stammered leaning forward and embracing her.
Xanthe hugged her weakly, shaking gently in the attempt of adding more strength. "I'm sorry- we left so soon…" She sobbed dryly, and Zackary hurried off to get her a meal and beverage.
(oof im sorry i left and im not back)
(IM BACK)
(also i was thinking…and i cant really picture North as a mom..like..her life rn is a little too hectic for a child so would it be ok if she hadn't had noah?)
(I am here)
(And I kinda want her to have the child just because Pax is attached)
(ok thats fine it just feels a little weird :)
(i might be here?? through out the day)
Xanthe hugged her weakly, shaking gently in the attempt of adding more strength. "I'm sorry- we left so soon…" She sobbed dryly, and Zackary hurried off to get her a meal and beverage.
"You don't have to apologize. I'm perfectly okay. I'm just very, very happy to see you." North whispered.
Xanthe nodded her silent agreement and squeezed her, somehow, harder than before.
"I'm sorry..I'm sorry for taking M away from you..when he was dying."
"What?" Xanthe asked in her somewhat hoarse voice. "You did nothing of the sort, North." She let her go and laid back with a faint sigh.
"We don't talk much anymore.. Do you miss him?"
