Vin squeezed him closer and put his hand on the side of his head, gently rubbing the side of it and humming quietly.
Vin squeezed him closer and put his hand on the side of his head, gently rubbing the side of it and humming quietly.
Vien let his head fall into the crook of Vin's neck, still sniffling a bit as he struggled to keep himself together. "I'm sorry for d-doubting you."
"It's okay…" He crooned gently. "It's okay…"
Vien reached a hand up, wiping at one of his eyes. He took a deep breath, doing his best to stop from breaking down
Vin rubbed Vien's head. "You can cry if it helps you feel better. I don't care."
"But I care," Vien said, his voice quiet and beginning to sound choked. The dragon in his lap cooed sadly, worming its way between them to nuzzle Vien's face
"Love, I don't care if you cry on me. But if you care, I can leave and maybe get you something to eat. Ice cream?" Vin pulled away a little and looked down at him, feeling concerned.
Vien felt torn. He wanted Vin to stay, but at the same time he didn't want Vin to have to see him when he cried. He wasn't exactly a pretty crier, either. "Ice cream is g-good," he eventually managed
"Okay. I'll go get it." He ran his hand along his face and gently kissed him.
Vien kissed him back for a moment, his grip on the dragon tightening. It wiggled in his lap, upset that Vien was feeling bad
Vin noticed and relaxed back into Vien. "I'll stay for a little while." He wrapped his arms around Vien and leaned his face into his hair.
Vien sniffled, hating the way his tics were growing worse. And in front of Vin, of all people. He leaned into Vin's hold, trying and failing to suppress the twitches
Vin's arms fell to Vien's waist and he pulled him closer, inhaling deeply as the ashy-black disappeared from his body. He shut his eyes and enjoyed the smell of Vien's hair.
Vien reached a hand up, index finger twitching as he wiped at one of his eyes. "I'm s-sorry for bothering you like this," he murmured, his gaze fixed on the floor beneath them
Vin pulled Vien's hand down and wiped his tears for him. "It's alright. It's what lovers are supposed to do, right?"
"Is it?" Vien asked. He wasn't even being sarcastic, he genuinely didn't know. All his previous relationships had ended badly, so he wasn't really sure what a good relationship was anymore
Vin pulled Vien's arms up and hugged his chest, nestling his head into his neck. "I think so." He glanced down at the dragon and slowly wrapped his legs around Vien's waist, making sure he didn't dislodge the dragon.
The dragon squinted judgmentally at Vin before moving out of Vien's lap and next to his side. Vien slowly wrapped his arms around Vin, holding him close
Vin squeezed him gently and murmured an apology to the dragon. He rested his face on Vien's shoulder and sighed.
Vien took a deep breath, giving Vin's body a small squeeze. "Thank you," he murmured softly, and the dragon tittered happily
"My pleasure, love." He kissed Vien's cheek.
Vien chuckled softly at the kiss. "You're too n-nice to me," he murmured, a dorky smile spreading across his face
Vin snuggled him gently. "You've been there during my rough times. Now it's my turn."
"Yeah, but I was making money off of you. That was different," Vien pointed out, smiling as Vin cuddled him. The dragon next to them gave a sort of purr as it nuzzled Vin's leg
"Yeah, but you didn't care about anyone else like that. Maybe because I flushed a lot of cash, but all well."
Vien shrugged, sitting up a bit. "You know how you were going to make food or something earlier?" he asked, his usual crooked grin spreading across his face. "I know how to make some really good desserts."
Vin smiled a little, glad Vien is starting to feel better. "Well, go ahead and make some! I'll help if you want."
"Well, I mean, we have to make real food," Vien chuckled. "I mean, I could do that too. When I lived in Portugal I had to do almost all the cooking for the two of us living there."
"You lived in Portugal? Cool, I've always wanted to go there." He grinned at Vien.
Vien nodded. "Granted I was running from persecution, but living on the coast was rather nice." He got to his feet slowly while the dragon turned circles next to him
