Balthazar growled… "Answer me this… Are you an elite demon? Are you royalty in the underworld? Or are you a puny human with no clue what's going on? Call the brotherhood stupid one more time… See what happens."
Balthazar growled… "Answer me this… Are you an elite demon? Are you royalty in the underworld? Or are you a puny human with no clue what's going on? Call the brotherhood stupid one more time… See what happens."
"I'm cursed and I think it's a life or death matter for you so…the Brotherhood is stupid."
Balthazar shrugged and suddenly, Rory was alone, stuck in the unfamiliar world filled with Demons that wanted nothing less than to have his head. His previous protection from the prince, gone.
At first, Rory started to panic. "Okay…I'm alone…in hell……in this weird robe….I'm probably gonna die…..wait…" He scratched his head. "I'm cursed and I have powers….let's try that first…"
By the time Rory had reached this realization Balthazar was back, "Darren said I'm not allowed to leave you….. or kill you…." He huffed, "Foul human,"
"Haha!" Rory punched the air. "Thank you Darren! So where are we going first?"
"I forgot why we're here," his deep voice boomed through the cave he was walking toward, "Refresh?"
"I'm cursed and I think I need to go somewhere in here to break the curse."
"Rrrriiiiigggghhhhtttt…….." Balthazar entered the cave, it was lit by candles you couldn't see from the outside, there was furniture that was clearly too large for any human but perfect for the demon of over 7 feet.
"Nice place you have here." Rory commented. Being taller than the average person, 6 foot 10 to be precise, Rory thought it was nice that he felt small for once. The furniture was just a little bit big for him thought.
"Who did your interior decorating?"
"Me," He growled and sat on the couch, the orange candle glow bounced off the red of his skin, "Can you explain this curse a little better to me?"
"Sure." Rory plopped down next to him, scooting back. "So there's this little locket like thing that I'm now in possession of, and I think in order to open it I have to break the curse that is inscribed on it. Lemme read it to you." He fished through his pockets and pulled out the circle.
"North to the tower of the bitter winds,
South to the land of the scorching earth,
West to the graveyard of what has already lived,
East to the temple of birth.
Paths will cross and winds shall change,
The cursed shall meet the sons of Bane
and when the sun burns the limit of the world
There they will find their troubles….unfurled."
"It sounds like directions… Let's break it down," He seemed a little less salty when he had something to do, "North to the Tower of the bitter winds…. I don't know yet. South to the land of the scorching earth? Sounds like hell although there is a place where you can see the fires through the ground here, it's a cool ritualistic place. West to the graveyard of what has already lived? Sounds like all graveyards but nonetheless, there is a graveyard of lost souls down here. East to the temple of birth, there is a temple where some souls become demons under special circumstances, it's also where demons are born."
"Paths will cross and winds shall change? Who's path? The only 'wind' in the underworld is when the great power arrives or a force of overwhelming good/light enters. The cursed shall meet the sons of Bane. There is a demon down here named Bane but I'm not sure that's who this is referring to… And when the sun burns the limit of the world There they will find their troubles…. unfurled. Sounds like something's gonna happen then you'll be freed but maybe follow these directions first?"
(Boredom…)
(I'm sorry
I have to leave for a bit)
(That's okay…)
(I HAS RETURNED. AT LEAST FOR A LITTLE BIT.)
(HELP)
(WITH WHAT? WHO DID YOU MURDER?)
(THINGS ARE SHAPING UP TO BE PRETTY ODDDDDDDDDDDDD)
(WITH WHAT? WHO DID YOU MURDER?)
(My boredom. I've been watching music videos since you left)
(A.k.a. My life)
(Well fear not! I have returned!)
(Actually my dog threw up while you were gone too so I had an anxiety attack due to my emetophobia then cleaned it up)
(Well fear not! I have returned!)
(Shall we continue?)
(Can we? Please?)
"So that's why you weren't here? You were too busy wedding planning?" "No. He actually proposed on my birthday." "So when's the wedding? I want to know when I have to be there." "Either May or June, we haven't decided." "Well decide quickly! I have a very busy schedule." "Doing what?" "Um, lots of things." "A.k.a. nothing." "…Shut up."
"Relateable though," Ryan nodded, "I too am often busy doing nothing,"
"Well I'm sorry! There's not much to do here. Plus I can't leave seeing as this was where I was quote-unquote 'Put to rest.' so I'm stuck here." "I know, Jazzi, I know. But trust me, I'll be alright." "That's the thing, I know you trust him, but what reasons do I have to trust him? How do I know you won't hurt her?"
"The thought of hurting her alone makes my stomach hurt, she's the one good thing I have and the only thing I truly love about me. She's the one I want to spend every second of my life with, she's the one and hurting her would mean her leaving or hating me and then what would I have. A lonely little life, and I would kid myself to think that's alright," he didn't even hesitate and he had more to say but cut himself off, no one likes a rambler.
