"Uh, nothing," Daus answered, looking back towards Erikos and smiling a bit to prove that he was alright as he hoped that the blush on his cheeks had disappeared. "I'm just thinking…about how I made it to Portugal and the other gods," he lied, shrugging faintly to assure Erikos that he wasn't upset at all. The other gods had never been quite welcoming towards him since he was from the underworld and used to be a human, though they were the only family he had at this point. Hopefully, some of them were actually looking for him…not that he didn't like being around Erikos.
“Well, you shouldn’t worry too much,” Erikos said, grinning as he flopped on his back in Daus’ lap. He smiled widely up at Daus, seemingly not noticing that he was causing the pinkness still lingering in the other’s cheeks
Daus nodded, almost sure that his cheeks had flushed even more as Erikos layed down in his lap. He returned their smile with a small one, mentally willing the blush to go away. "I'm a professionally trained worrier. That and procrastination," he joked, trying to use that to cover up the pink tint in his cheeks.
"Same here. If I'm good at one thing, it's procrastination. And eating," Erikos chuckled, shifting a bit as he made himself comfortable in Daus' lap. Vien above was peeking unnoticed through the trapdoor, secretly making bets with Baal on who would ask the other out first
"I definitely agree with the eating part," Daus hummed, chuckling lightly as he looked down towards Erikos as they shifted a bit. He tucked a few strands of his curly hair away from his face in an attempt to distract the other from the pink tint lingering on his cheeks.
"Why are your cheeks pink?" Erikos asked curiously, blue eyes watching Daus curiously above him. "Is it from laughing or something?" he continued to ask, completely oblivious to why Daus was blushing
"Something like that," Daus shrugged as he looked down and met Erikos' blue eyes, studying them for a few moments. "Also, I'm usually pretty bad at conversations, so you could say that I'm nervous…" He added, glad that his cheeks didn't feel as flushed as earlier.
"Well, there's nothing to be nervous about," Erikos said as if it was obvious. "I talk enough for fifty people, so even though I'm annoying half the time, I like to think I'm easy to talk to," he said with a small laugh. He propped his arms up beneath his head, exposing his lower torso yet again
"Well, I like to think that I'm a twig compared to most people," Daus added, chuckling lightly at Erikos' response as he motioned towards the other man's abs. He barely ate or slept most of the time, so the mix clearly reflected on himself.
"Don't worry, I get teased all the time for looking like a twig even though I'm actually decently muscular. It's just more…streamlined, I guess," Erikos said with a shrug. "I'm not as twiggy as you, though," he teased, one hand moving to poke Daus' stomach
"You? A twig?" Daus asked incredulously, a small laugh escaping him when Erikos poked his stomach. "You have a six pack, which immediately means that you aren't a twig," he added, poking Erikos' stomach in addition to response as a grin crossed his lips.
Erikos laughed a little, his cheeks flushing a small bit. "Aw, thanks," he chuckled, shifting a bit in Daus' lap as he grinned up at him. Suddenly, a strange thought came to mind. He had actually sort of missed Daus' touch. Odd
Daus hummed in thought, a dorky smile still on his face as he looked down towards Erikos as well, laughing softly at their bright grin. For some reason, Erikos seemed like the only person he had actually smiled or laughed around in a while.
Erikos opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off by his father's voice from down the hall. "Lights out Erikos, it's nearly midnight!" he called, and Erikos rolled his eyes.
"It's only nine dad, that's not almost midnight!" he called back before sliding off of Daus. He stretched, a small yawn escaping him before he looked at the bed. "You might have to share the bed with me, I don't trust anything in the loft after Vien's willowheart."
"Are you sure? I can take the floor," Daus answered, yawning faintly as he looked towards Erikos, missing being so close to them for some odd reason. Ignoring the thought, he instead ran a hand through his hair in an attempt to fix it. "Trust me, the floor wouldn't be terrible compared to other things I've slept on," He added, a joking tone in his voice.
"Which is exactly why you're using the bed. There's no point in making you uncomfortable. Besides, guests don't sleep on the floor," Erikos insisted. He rubbed at his eyes for a moment, tugging his poncho off and setting it lazily off to the side. His skin was littered with a myriad of henna tattoos, and he yawned again as he flopped onto the bed
Daus nodded and yawned again, tugging his curly hair out of the small tie it was looped around in. He was going to cut it a week ago, but he had never gotten to it. Not that he really cared what his hair looked like anyways. Stretching a bit, Daus walked towards the other side of the bed and laid down, already feeling a strange wave of exhaustion.
"C'mon," Erikos insisted, flipping back the comfortable-looking covers before crawling inside. "It's comfy," he said in a sing-song voice, trying to get Daus to clamber in as well
"Alright," Daus sighed, chuckling a bit at Erikos' tone as he slipped under the covers as well. Erikos wasn't lying, they were very comfortable. He yawned again, running a hand through his curls before he laid down once again.
Erikos shifted a bit, awkwardly hugging one of the large pillows as he turned to look at Daus. "Comfy, right? It's all rich people material, stuff that we had to trade a bunch to get. Worth it though, because it's super comfy."
"Really comfy," Daus mumbled, cracking a small smile as he turned to look towards Erikos as well. He rubbed his amber eyes tiredly, attempting to blink out the drowsiness. He had never really slept that much, but a weird feeling of being next to Erikos seemed to make him comfortable.
Erikos gave him a smile before letting his eyes close. If there was one thing besides eating he could do, it was sleep. He felt himself dozing off quickly, a yawn escaping him as he snuggled into the pillow
Daus smiled softly at the way Erikos snuggled into his pillow before he closed his eyes as well. He felt himself doze off, part of his face buried in the pillow out of habit.
(time skip to the next morning?)
(yeah, that sounds good.)
Erikos awoke the next morning with a soft yawn, keeping his eyes closed in an attempt to fight back the sunlight filtering through the curtains. He went to move, but slowly realized that he was more or less spooning Daus. He blinked a few times in surprise before shuffling to the far side of the bed as stealthily as he could, his face feeling like it was suddenly on fire
Daus made a small sound as he hugged his pillow dorkily, feeling Erikos shift next to him. He seemed to stir a bit, but his eyes remained closed as he yawned faintly. This was the most he had ever slept, so he wasn't going to move in a while.
Erikos held the other pillow close to his chest, giving a muffled noise of frustration before covering his face with it. What was wrong with him lately? Ever since Daus showed up, he had been a flustered, bumbling idiot. He was never like this, so why was he acting like it now?
Daus finally cracked an eye open at a muffled sound, frowning faintly as he sat up. He didn't remember where he was at first, though after a few moments, the recent memories of yesterday flooded his mind. Yawning and stretching a bit, he looked down towards the pillow covering a figure's face before he realized that it was Erikos, a small grin crossing his face at that.
Erikos kept the pillow pressed to his face, deciding he'd rather suffocate than let Daus see his face as red as it was. He hugged the pillow, wondering idly if he might be able to fall back asleep
