"I'm sure the closet could give you a hat like that… we'll check when you wake up." Blake preened Ellis's second wing, enjoying the downy soft feathers on his fingers, but the amount of torn and stunted feathers disturbed him. If I was a little older when they killed my parents this would've been me.
The second wing that Blake preened had a narrow scar where no feathers grew. Ellis leaned against Blake, becoming quiet now as he dozed off.
Blake traced the scar lightly with his fingertips, a depressed sigh escaping his lips. After making sure the boy's hair and wings were dried for certain, Blake scooped Ellis up in his arms. He carried him back into the common room and upon seeing that Skylar had moved, tucked Ellis gently into Peter's arms, reuniting the two brothers.
Peter's eyes fluttered a little, hugging his little brother tightly and sinking back to sleep.

Skylar jumped, startled at the girl that just sat freely down on her lap. “Oh! Hi!” She said, surprised. “Who are you?”
"Ma-ma-maken-zie." She struggled out.
“Hi Mackenzie. I’m Skylar. I don’t know where Dani is, but I’m sure she is alright. Do you know her well?” She asked.
Blake made his way quietly over to Frankie, wrapped his arms around her waist, and rested his head tiredly on her shoulder.
Macha and Zander rushes in, holding Ace’s prone body. “Help!”, Macha yelled as loud as she could.
"She's my……………" Mackenzie squinted her eyes, trying to figure out which word was the right one. "Cousin!" She said triumphantly.
“Oh! Cool! I bet she’s is a great cousin! How old are you?” sky asked.
Mackenzie showed Sky four fingers. "Fouw." She said proudly.

Zander helped Macha put Ace onto one of the beds and then rushed over to the nurses station." We need help with our friend." Zander said rushing two of them towards Ace. When he got them over there he asked."Do either of you know what room Dani is in?"
