"Your father. We don't have to talk about it but I seemed to have gotten the wrong impression of him,"
"Your father. We don't have to talk about it but I seemed to have gotten the wrong impression of him,"
Lillian frowned and almost held her breath, "You might have. He-he seems like a good person on the surface. He can be. It's just sometimes, um yeah."
"I know what that's like… Well not me personally but I experienced it with a friend of mine,"
Lillian let out a sigh, "Oh. Okay."
"Does your dad still live at your house?"
"Last time I went there, which was the day before I began living at your house, yes."
Darren nodded, ideas passed through his brain but none that he verbalized.
Lillian snuggled closer to him. She really just wanted to cuddle right now.
"Do you want to go inside?" He asked. He had taken to playing with a stray bit of dark, curly hair that poked out of the front of his hat and tickled his forehead.
Lillian nodded, "Yeah. It's getting really cold outside."
Darren stood up and offered a hand to help her do the same despite her being the stronger one at the moment.
Lillian smiled as she took his hand and pulled herself up. She began to lead them back inside.
Darren allowed himself to be dragged into the house, "Upstairs?" He asked when he saw the Anderson flock in the kitchen.
Lillian eyed them warily, “Yeah. We might want to hurry so we don’t get spotted.”
Darren walked as fast as he could toward the stairs, making it before anyone saw him. He went one step at a time in a slow, agonizing process.
Lillian walked with him helping him up the stairs. She just didn’t want to be noticed.
Cooper turned around and just winked before turning back, it was directed at Lillian, he seemed cold to Darren's existence. They reached the top and he made his way to his room. He sat on the bed and looked around, his eyes landing momentarily on his guitar against the wall with slight curiosity but they soon moved away when they met Lillian's.
Lillian smiled softly as she sat next to him. She spotted the guitar and earlier Cooper’s wink. She hadn’t reacted at the time nor would she.
Darren sighed but smiled. "I miss music," He said simply with no further explanation.
Lillian looked at the guitar before getting up and bringing it to him, “Well don’t. If you love it, do it.”
Darren let out a quick breath that sounded like a snickered laugh as he quirked an eyebrow, taking the instrument anyways. He held it close like it was an extension of his hands, familiar.
Lillian blushed when she realized a way her words could be taken. She sat down next to him and said, “Just play something.”
Darren chuckled, "Righ… If you love it… Do it!" He began to stum as a filler for figuring out what he was going to play. "Anyways. Any song suggestions?"
Lillian’s mind was blank. She had no songs wow, “Nope.”
"Wow… That's a first…." He smiled as his strumming began to have a rhythm. His smile only grew as he began to sing 'A whole New World' From Aladdin like the true child he was.
Lillian laughed a little as he started to sing Aladdin. She was smiling and joined in when Jasmine would sing.
Darren smiled brightly, his family downstairs probably thought they were insane.
Lillian was positive they thought the couple was insane.
By the time the song ended, Warrenton was laughing. "Ah, I love you,"
(And now I'm in a whole new world with yyyoooouuu)
