(Hi)
(Hello)
(So……….wanna start??)
(UM yeah sure)
(Would you like me to start?)
(Please, I'm terrible with starts)
Brianna sighed as she stared at her notebook. She was lying on her bed, and her best friend, Axel, was sitting on a beanbag a few feet away. Her sister, Avery, was with their mom shopping for the day. Brianna looked up at Axel. "I'm bored." She said as she paused the music she had playing.
Axel (or Sandy) looked up at his friend. "Well, Bri, you invited me over." He spoke in a hushed and deep voice. "I thought you wanted to do something… innovating." He shrugged randomly and ran the palms of his hands over his pant legs.
Brianna snickered. "Oookay. WAIT. I think I have an idea……" She stood up quickly and ran into her closet, looking for something. "I'm sure I have it around here somewhere…………..Hmm……"
Sandy curiously looked after her and rose nervously off of the beanbag chair. "What are you looking for?" He wondered as he looked over her shoulder.
"Looking for……….THIS!" Brianna walked out of her closet and put an interesting chest on her bed. She quickly pulled the key that was on her necklace and opened the chest with it.
Sandy had followed her to the bed and looked down at the chest. "What– what is it?"
"It's………..a long story. But it's really cool." She opened the chest, revealing…..a book? "Wait, what? That's not the only thing that's supposed to be in there……" Brianna lifted the book and put it on the bed. There was nothing else in the chest, but Brianna picked up the chest and turned it over, trying to find the thing she was looking for.
"Um, are you sure it's not in the book?" Sandy proposed, feeling foolish. He, asking that and being proven wrong would be humiliating.
Brianna paused, abruptly putting the chest down and flipping through the book, shaking it slightly. "No, no no no no no no no…." She kept repeating as she dashed into Avery's room, then she ran back into her room. "So, yeah we have to go to the place I wanted to show you now…………." She trailed off as she ran into her closet again.
"What are you looking for?" He asked louder, though still somewhat abashed that his suggestion wasn't of any help.
Brianna popped her head out of her closet. "I'm looking for a……..necklace….." Wow it sounded stupid out loud. "It's hard to explain."
"Okay, so… what's this place you're talking about?" Bri had to be pulling his leg. There was no way his best friend was freaking out about losing a necklace.
"It's………….oh for…….just follow me we'll go now." She ran out of the closet with a backpack and she grabbed the book, disappearing out of the room without saying anything else.
"Do I need to bring anything?" He asked anxiously as he followed her.
"Nope. I got everything we need." Brianna said as she went into the backyard.
"O–okay." He bounded heavily after her. "Where're we going?" He did feel quite curious.
Brianna grabbed the gate to the fence that surrounded the forest in her backyard. "Into the woods. I gotta show you something."
"Alright…" Sandy murmured and jumped the gate with ease. He felt distinctly worried. This was just too odd of her. Was she gonna jump him (or as the kids these days would say)?
Brianna closed the gate and started running down the path. "I should have left the stupid necklace on. But did I? Noooo, I had to be the IDIOT who destroys the Enchanted Forest!"
Sandy glanced at his friend as he ran with her. What the heck was she talking about?
