Ferran blushed. "Wait why?"
Ferran blushed. "Wait why?"
"I'm going to a party at one am. Ferrari, you make sure we don't get caught." She had an intense look in her eyes.
(I'm cleaning out my garage, sorry if I'm inconsistent)
(Tis fine)
Ferran frowned. "Right. Okay. Why is it up to me?"
"You're so responsible and I'm so. . . not." Marlowe let go of his knee, pulling down her dress for the billionth time.
Kelsey decided to butt in. "You're responsible, Marli, don't worry about it."
Ferran swallowed down a biting remark. "You're fine Mar. I'll take care of it."
Marlowe nodded. "Thanks." They arrived a few minutes after one and Marlowe got out of the car, excited once again. "Let's go!"
Ferran let his glare linger on Kelsey, then followed her. 'So why do you want to go to this party so bad?"
"I want to have fun." She smiled and pressed a kiss to Ferran's cheek before running off with Kelsey to join the dance floor.
Ferran blushed.
Someone tapped his shoulder. "Why you standing there like a lovestruck donkey?"
Daveed. Ferran smiled. "Eh well….." Maybe I am…
Emily walked towards them, cheeks red and eyes glossy. "Hey guys! Beer's in the back, but Gideon's charging 40 bucks for one cup."
Kelsey pulled out her purse, "I don't mind."
"I actually don't drink," Marlowe said, glancing back at Ferran before dragging Kelsey towards the music. "We came to have fun, not to get drunk!" She yelled over the music.
"Same thing!"
(Sorry for abandoning you there
I had to sleep ._.)
(nah, sleep is good)
Ferran rolled his eyes. "Everybody thinks you need to drink to have fun."
"Not me." Daveed stated. "I just drink cus it tastes good. I'll only have one though."
They danced for a few minutes before Marlowe slipped away to explore the plant. The chemicals were supposed to all be gone, but she could still smell a few things.
"Hey Marlowe," a boy came out of nowhere. Ashley? "Wanna spend time with me?" Ashley walked closer.
Marlowe shook her head. "No thanks, Ashley, I have places to be, and I already have a boyfriend."
"Who?"
She froze. That last line had been a lie. "A big, muscular dude. Hot temper. Probably wouldn't like seeing you with me."
Ferran peered out at the dance floor. "Where's Mar? I don't see her."
Daveed frowned. "Me neither. Maybe she wandered off?"
"Oh great that's just like her." Ferran groaned. "I better go find her."
"Oh, he doesn't have to know." Ashley smelled like beer and drugs, the ultimate frat boy.
Marlowe slowly backed away. "I'm gonna head back to the party now."
"You're not going anywhere." He grabbed her hand and she jerked it away, falling back towards the railing of the walkways, high above the rest of the party. A vat of bubbling chemicals sat below them. It was supposed to be cleaned out.
"Marli? MAAARRRRRLIIIIII!!!" Ferran called. "Okay this isn't funny anymore I'm worried. Please come out."
There was nowhere left to go. Marlowe vaulted over the rail, trying not to look down, slowly walking towards the end. Ashley was apoplectic, pushing the rails up and down, trying to get her to fall off. Every time she stumbled was like a nightmare. Distant shouts of her name reached her ear, "Ferran! I'm right here! I need help!"
Ashley gave one more shove and Marlowe's feet slipped. She desperately held onto the rails with her hands, wishing that she wasn't as weak as she was. I need to take more cardio.
Ferran looked up. "MAR WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" He looked around. "I'll find the stairs!"
I need to pull myself up. Stupid Ashley. Stupid party. Marlowe's weak noodle arms felt like death had come early for them. Her fingers were starting to slip off. She was holding on with one hand now.
Ferran gasped and bolted up the nearest stairwell. He dashed out onto the platform and crouched down. "Reach!"
Marlowe reached her hand out, but always came short a few inches. The chemicals under her were starting to make her nauseated and weak. Her final hand was beginning to slip. She fell feet-first into the solution. The sound of screaming entered her ears as she fell, until she realized it was her screaming.
"MARLI!" Ferran screeched. He stumbled down the stairs and down to the chemicals.
The chemicals consumed her and the sound of police cars came to her. Someone called the police. Now I'm totally getting busted. God, Sarah's gonna kill me and then kill me again. Something about herself felt wrong. Like her body was changing on a microscopic level. Is my face deformed? Am I radioactive?
Ferran waited anxiously as the police worked at fishing her out of the solution. "Please be okay please be okay please please please."
She was not okay. They transported her to the hospital and sealed her in a safe room, with the doctors wearing hazmat suits.
Ferran paced back and forth in the waiting room. Daveed watched him, slurping his slushie. "Calm down Ferry boat. She'll be fine!"
"No she won't Dav. The had hazmats."
A doctor came out, old and bespectacled. "Do you know where her legal guardian is?"
"Uh….she's at home I think. Asleep." Ferran wrung his hands. "Is she okay?"
