Lillian nodded, "Yeah."
Lillian nodded, "Yeah."
"In the meantime⦠I'm going to eat toast," He pushed himself up painfully, giving moans and groans and wincing the entire way.
Lillian watched him. She wanted to go after him, but she was a not worried.
Darren came back in a few minutes later and sat on the couch, pulling his legs up to and eating his toast, "Did you want some?"
Lillian shook her head, "Not really. Thanks for offering though."
Darren nodded as he ate the toast slowly. The chemo made food taste bitter or sour but toast⦠that was okay. In fact, he'd been living off of toast lately.
Lillian let out a sigh. She didn't know what to say or do.
"So when your brother gets here, (When Camie comes back⦠AHHH) Where do you think he'll want to eat?"
(AAHHHHHH)
Lillian smiled, "I don't think he'll care. Maybe not pasta."
"Not pasta? Does he not like pasta?" Darren questioned⦠"I mean it doesn't matter to me⦠I'm not going to eat,"
"Oh no. I'm guessing since all he's eaten is ramen, mac and cheese, and the occasional pizza. He won't want any pasta," Lillian sighed.
"Okay. That's fine⦠We can go where ever he wants,"
Lillian looked at him, "Do you want anything babe?"
"Likeā¦. Right now?'
"Or whenever."
"Well eventually I'm going to go downstairs and work out⦠You can't yell at me," Darren knew the risks⦠Breaking bones, having a heart attack, dying⦠He wasn't supposed to lift but he didn't care.
Lillian looked at him frowning, "You may say I can't yell, but I can stop you."
He literally flipped a desk and screamed in pain but somehow was convinced this would work? "Lillian, I'll be fineā¦"
Lillian scowled her voice raised slightly, "No you won't."
Darren winced a little, "You said you wouldn't yell at me,"
Leo parked in front of the house. He got off the bike and looked to Ginger, "Do you need help?"
"I'm fine," Ginger murmured. Several steps from the bike, she lurched forward in pain and grabbed Leo's arm instinctively.
Leo cauggt her, āWoah there. Iāll help the rest of the way there.ā
Lillian took a deep breath, āI-I did. Iām sorry. But please donāt.ā
"Okay," Ginger agreed. "Th-Thank you. For everything."
Leo laughed as his arm wrapped around her, āYour welcome. One step at a time?ā
"Yes," Ginger looked at the ground. His arm was comforting, but at the same time, it activated so much pain.
Lillian took a deep breath, āI-I did. Iām sorry. But please donāt.ā
Darren chuckled, āI mean⦠whatās the worst that could happen,ā a lot āItās no big deal,ā
Lillian didnāt let her voice raise, āIt is a big deal. Leo will tell you.ā
Leo walked in and looked up, āTell him what?ā
āOh right, the doctor of course,ā Darren huffed, āReally im Fine,ā
Ginger walked in behind Leo.
Leo looked to Lillian and then to Ginger. He gestured a trade off. Lillian nodded and stood up walking over to Ginger and Leo sat down next to Darren. He looked to him, "Oh you are far from fine."
"Hi Ginger."
