Marlowe nodded, her gray hair tied up in a high ponytail. "Yeah. I'm always excited. You never know what's going to happen."

"Fun's one way to describe it," Elijah muttered. He tossed his can towards the bin as well, but missed by about two feet.

“You need to work on your shot, mister.” Aeron said walking over and placing it in the bin himself.

"What do you think we'll do Marli? Cool hotels… The Grand Canyon!"

"Yeah, maybe! I hope we see stars, or swim in the ocean when it's raining, or go into an abandoned building." Marli took a deep breath and closed her eyes. "Maybe even find summer love."

Xiv rolled her eyes. "Really? Is that all you're worried about?" She scooched up on to the front of the van after several attempts.

Marli shrugged. "What I want to do most on this car ride is figure out who I am. Not an easy feat, if I do say so myself." She reached up and ruffled Xiv's hair. "What are you concerned about?"

Xiv shrugged. "I dunno. I just want to see the sights, and do the stuff. Have fun!"

"Good girl." She smiled and leaned against the car.

"Do you know where we'll be going?"

Marli shrugged, "Anywhere but here."

Xiv rolled her eyes. "Obviously! That's the whole point of this, isn't it?" Xiv continued with even taking a breath. "I think we'll go to the grand Canyon. Everyone goes there on road trips. Oh! And Disney Land! No, we probably don't have that kind of money, but-" Marli cut her off.

"Woah girl, slow your horses. Whatever we do, we're going to do it in style and do as much of it as we can. We're going to make memories." She laughed and grabbed her round sunglasses, putting them over her eyes.

Xiv smiled and sighed. "Yeah, I guess that that's all that matters."

(Sarah's the aunt)
"Sarah's going to so mad at me when I get back." Marli sighed, "She's going to break out my full name. Marlowe Juniper Cosima Frank! What did you do?" She mimicked her aunt's voice, making it high-pitched and nasally.

Xiv frowned. "Why would she be mad at you? What did you do?"

"I'm going on a roadtrip without her permission." Marli cast her gaze towards the ground.

"Why didn't you ask first?"

"She wouldn't have let me go."

Elijah looked over at the people getting into the van. "Shit, she got shotgun," he muttered under his breath. "We should probably get in now, you're stuff's in the trunk, right? I'll call Cecil right now to find out where he is."

“Yep, by the way, I get to sit next to you.” He said, nudging him and climbing through the window of the van.
