She pulled her hairtie off her wrist and rebraided her hair. I never understood why you do this. Because it's easier to style wet hair and then let it dry then trying to style dry hair.

Lillian smiled at him and sat down on the couch.

Ryan was half asleep ergo didnât bother to move.
She switched to more slow, relaxing songs. She didn't want to burst his eardrums when he was almost asleep.
Lillian smiled at him and sat down on the couch.
Darren laid with his head in her lap, looking up her, âYou just going to sit there? I have a TV if you donât want to sleep,â
Lillian shrugged as her hand started to play with his hair, âIâll probably read a book or something.â
She switched to more slow, relaxing songs. She didn't want to burst his eardrums when he was almost asleep.
Ryan fell asleep soon after, snoring quietly.
She laid there, her voice still singing, but much quieter than it was before. She always found it much easier to sleep with some sound in the background. She could never fall asleep in a dead quiet room.
Lillian shrugged as her hand started to play with his hair, âIâll probably read a book or something.â
Darrenâs eyes closed and a smile crossed his face. âOkay,â he yawned.
âI donât want to!â Ryan said with force.
Lillian leaned down and kissed his forehead, âSee you when you wake up.â
She nearly screamed. "I swear he's going to give me a heart attack one of these days." She mumbled. "Ryan? Ryan, wake up!" She shook him.

Darren didnât respond, he was already asleep his smile slowly fading away.
She nearly screamed. "I swear he's going to give me a heart attack one of these days." She mumbled. "Ryan? Ryan, wake up!" She shook him.
Ryanâs eyes shot open, âI donât want to!â He struggled until he realized it was Belle. He stared at her panting.
"Shh, shh, it's alright, it's just me." Her voice was soft, calm, she didn't want to scare him anymore than he already was.
Ryan calmed down, he was more confused than scared now. âWhat- why-Belle,â
"What do you mean?" Now she was confused. Two confused people? This should be fun. Or confusing. Who knows?
Ryan tried to regain composure, âY-You woke me up?â
Lillian smiled and just sat there for a moment playing with his hair. A good twenty minutes passed before there was a quiet knock on the door. Lillian looked over and slowly moved Darrenâs head to under a pillow as she got up and walked over. She opened the door, âHello?â
A man was there. He didnât greet her as he pulled her towards him and placed a rag over her mouth. She struggled and shouted but it was muffled. She soon was passed out. The man threw her limp body over his shoulder and into the back of his van where someone else tied her up, blindfolded her, and gagged her. A note was slid under the door and they drove off.
"You looked like you were having a nightmare or at least a bad dream. Sorry for being paranoid." She looked away.
Darrenâs eyes blinked open, no one playing with his hair, no warm bodyâŚ. No Lillian? He looked around the living room. âLillian?â He searched the house to find nothing but a note by the door.
"You looked like you were having a nightmare or at least a bad dream. Sorry for being paranoid." She looked away.
âNo itâs fine. Youâre right I was,â he sighed and ran a hand through his hair.
"Do you want to talk about it? It's okay if you don't."
If you want the girl back, come to the outskirts of town at midnight. Bring your demonic brother with you. Tell no one and donât think of trying to fool us.
Darren snapped his fingers and Cooper fell next to him. âDude what hell. I was sleeping,â
Darren handed him the note. âOh,â
Darren nodded wordlessly. When they take his girl heâs upset and a mess. When they request the demons, it becomes nothing but a job.
"Do you want to talk about it? It's okay if you don't."
Ryan shook his head. He couldnât tell her, âIâm fine,â
"Alright. If you insist." She couldn't push it. He never did with her. She was still tapping out a beat to a song only she could hear.
Lillian finally woke up. She wasnât in the van but couldnât see anything. Her hands were tied behind her back and her ankles were tied together. They roped cut into her skin when she tried to move them. Lillian was alone in the dark, and she was terrified.
"Alright. If you insist." She couldn't push it. He never did with her. She was still tapping out a beat to a song only she could hear.
He sat up and leaned against the headboard absently.
She laid her head on his shoulder, not saying a word. What was there to say?
