(Wait, we have magical powers?)
(Dennis doesn't that I know of)
(Wait, we have magical powers?)
(Eh, those might come into play in a bit. But for now, nobody has powers, kay?)
( Dennis just talked to a shark so he can fake his death.)

(Ok.)
(Well he's a merperson. It's kinda expected that, being basically part fish, they can communicate with fish)
Astra was sitting in the warm sand of a beach. She worked at an aquarium, she thought it would help get over her fear……….of well fish. Astra wasn't afraid of drowning which would have made much more sense, but no, she had to be afraid of stupid fish.
( WE HAVE MERMAIDS??)
(Is it like… first day of work?)
(…..just Dennis I think)
(Nat approved it)
( Oh.)
Kalei yawned faintly as she ran a hand through her dark hair, studying the horizon of the ocean from her where she was standing on the beach. The cold breeze seemed to wake her up a bit, and she was grateful for that. Maybe next time she wouldn't stay up that late. Kalei noticed Astra sitting a few spots to her left and began to make her way over, fiddling with the blue calcite crystal hanging around her neck. "Ready?" She said, speaking up as she looked down towards Astra, a faint smile crossing her face at the sight of her friend.
"Aww man do we have to?" Astra joked at the sight of her friend as she stood up and dusted the sand from her pants and picked up her sandals.
Darren walked along the beach, he saw people and wondered vaguely if they were coworkers as he approached.
(Is it like… first day of work?)
(Not for everyone, but if you'd like it to be your character's first day that's fine.)
(Sweet!)
"Sadly, yes," Kalei answered, laughing softly as she dropped her hand from the crystal necklace around her neck, instead placing her hands in the large pocket of her hoodie. "And don't worry, I brought an aventurine crystal for luck," She added, motioning to the faded green crystal bracelet on her left wrist. Kalei had been raised from a young age that crystals had different properties, so she had never let go of the belief. It usually brought her some sort of comforting feeling to know that these crystals could possibly bring her different aspects; luck, calm, happiness, etc.
Tara took a deep breath as she stared down at Emerald, one of the new dolphins at the reserve. "I know you don't want to be here." She said softly as she slipped into the pool. "But you have to get used to this." She said, looking pointedly at the dolphin's new prosthetic tail.
(Gtg to supper, bbl)
First day jitters hit Darren like a freight train as the building came into view, It wasn't exactly small. He took a deep breath as he entered, he was told he needed to check in at the Front Desk, where even was that? He was lost and his face showed it much more than he meant it to.

Astraa nodded as she shook the sand off of her fedora before putting it on her head. " Roses are red, and I can be too, Purple or Pink, But not see through, Second hardest mineral, Known unto man, Having trouble guessing, What stone I am? Heart is my passion And I’m a powerful one, Help you to see, The true nature of love, Commonly found, Here and there
Buy my famous type, Is a Burmese affair. " Astra recited a riddle as she studied the crystals. "Well I like them." Astra complimented.
(Whoops, is that riddle too hard?)
Dennis swam for hours that day, so long that he physically couldn't go on. He found a vacant cave and went inside to rest, watching out of the entrance warily while he recovered.
Dripping wet, Tara walked up to the new guy. "Hey, need some help?" She asked knowingly.
Abby's car tires squealed as she slid into a parking spot, rushed into the building, grabbed her purse and uniform, and rushed inside. "I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" she muttered as she hurried through the main doors.
(Hey, Abby should help Darren… It's his first day and he is very lost…)

(I think Nat's character did. Idk why she wrote that Darren walked up, dripping wet, but you know. I thought they were Tara??)
(Oof didn't even see that)

Darren nodded quickly, "Uhh, Y-yeah, first day,"
