Trinity tried to look for any of her friends, any cheerleaders. There were none. They were all at a practice that she was late for. She sat down on the floor in the corner, tears ran down her cheeks. She has never felt this vulnerable.
Trinity tried to look for any of her friends, any cheerleaders. There were none. They were all at a practice that she was late for. She sat down on the floor in the corner, tears ran down her cheeks. She has never felt this vulnerable.
Nyir felt as though the floor had been pulled from underneath her. Tasper was no where to be found. What if he'd been outside? What if…what if… Pulling herself together, she forced herself to calm down.
Trinity walked over to Nyir. "I-is he here?" Her face was red from the tears.
“Joan!” Ben said quickly, “Where’s Eli? Did you see him anywhere? Did you see Helmer? Any of them? Are they here?” The questions came spilling out like a waterfall full of fish, “Where’s my brother?” He had only seen his brother Carson at the beginning of class, and the scary thing was that Carson was an outdoorsy person, always trying to find a way outside.
“Elis somewhere in this group, I don’t know where Helmer is, and the last time I saw Carson- he was running outside with Tasper to some secret fort they have been working on for a few years now.” The blonde looked up at Ben, her beautiful hazel eyes looked like the stars, stars that were drenched in water.
"Have you seen their fort? If it safe?"
"I don't know! I don't bother them!" Tears ran down her face. Embracing her, Ben held her tight, 'There is no way I'm going to lose her, I have to keep her safe'
Nyir shook her head helplessly. "Tasper isn't…he isn't here." She swallowed past the lump in her throat. She wouldn't break down. Not yet. Not when there was so much going on.
Trinity's eyes start to water, "We will find him." She grabbed your hand comfortingly. "Do you have any other idea on where he could be? His locker, his last class?"
Leaving Joan to her friends, Ben scanned the area from Nyir. Barely spotting her in the crowd, he darted towards her. Skipping around the people, he stood in front of her, “Ok, good news and bad news…. The bad news is- Your son is most likely outside, the good news- He is properly in a fort my brother made, and my brother is a master tree house fort builder, including in high trees- and this place is surrounded by high growing trees.”
"And what does that mean? Do you think that others may have gone up there?" Trinity said, trying to hold onto a shred of hope that her friends aren't zombies. "Are they safe up there?"
“Most likely… uh… There have been a few incidences when I found my brother bringing a few knives and a small BB gun to school, he most likely he brought them up in his tree fort, and if he wasn't bringing weapons up there, it would be his friends.” The chances of his brother and Tasper up in his tree fort were oddly high, Carson liked climbing, and to have a friend with him or even a group with him! Oh, he would bring them or force them to the top.
Nyir sighed, running her hand through her hair. "What can we do to get out there? There are definitely gas masks in the bio lab."
Trinity sat back down, she was happy that Tasper could still be alive, but it wasn't the news she wanted to hear.
“And there’s definitely Gas masks in that tree house just in case if someone is breaking the wind." A small smile grew on Bens' face, they were most likely alive…… and shooting zombies with BB bullets. "My brother is always prepared if someone brakes the wind."
"Count me in." Trinity got back up. "Are you all armed?"
"I have my spear!" Ben replied. "And I have a few others weapons in my locker, weapons my father forces me to bring, and yes I have the license to bring weapons into school…" he glance at Nyir quickly.
"Well… ok.. I've got my knife! Let's go to the science lab and grab the gas masks." Trinity leads the group to the science lab, and unlocks the door. "Be on the lookout for anything else that will be useful!" She says. Trinity finds a scalpel, first aid kit, and some rubbing alcohol.
Ben darted around the room, ‘Nothing, nothing, nothing…' He pushed all the unusual things aside, “Ohhhh…..” Ben pulled out a book, “How to keep a strong relationship! Nice, but sadly that won’t help us right at the moment.”
Trinity manages a chuckle. "Here, look in this dissecting kit." She hands him a box with a handle. She looks around and notices something Ben pushed aside, it was a picture of her and the science teacher's daughter, also on the cheerleading squad. She smiles, reminiscing the moment that this picture was taken.
Trinity puts the picture into the small bag that she was carrying.
Secretly grabbing the ‘How to keep a strong relationship’ book Ben placed it in his jacket pocket.
(Still there?)
Nyir armed herself, her expression firm. "Lets go."
"To the cafeteria or to where we can get to Carson's tree house fort that right outside the math classrooms window?" Ben looked at both of them for answers. "Ill follow you guy anywhere."
"The tree house." Nyir gritted her teeth together, brandishing her knife with a frown. "I'm getting my damn son back."
