She tried to stay as calm as possible, although she was starting to worry about passing out. She did feel a small bit lightheaded but chose to stay quiet about it.
Her heart pumped blood slower than Ryan was drinking. The human in him said to stop but the human was weaker. Everything told him to stop, to gain control, but soon became overwhelmed with delight and quieted.
(Morning everyone!)
The darkness was too much. She opened her eye, refusing to look down. Black spots were creeping in at the corners of her vision. Too much more of it and she'd faint. She swallowed hard, not wanting to know what would happen if she did faint.
Ryan’s brain screamed for her to do something, anything. He laced his hands with hers and held on tight. His teeth pulled out of her neck but his face lingered.
She took a few shaky breaths, feeling a bit weak from blood loss. She chewed on her lip, wondering what was going to happen next.
“Belle,” his voice was strained and scared.
"Hmm? Yes, what is it?" Her own voice was weak, more air than sound.
“Are you okay?” He clenched his jaw shut
Sh bit her lip. What should she tell him? That she was fine to not make him worry, or that she was going to black out and freak him out? Well, the truth is always the best answer. "Not…really."
Ryan put a hand to the blood on her neck,””I can Heal you,”
She shook her head. Slowly, so her neck wouldn't be irritated. "So can I. I'll be fine, trust me." She patched up the holes in her neck. Though restoring blood took energy she didn't have, so she'd just have to wait that one out.
Ryan stood up, clearly flustered. “Belle I-I’m Sorry,” He stammered as he paced nervously.
She wanted to slap herself for choosing her words so carelessly. "No, no, don't be. I should've said something."
“How could you? The venom paralyzes, it’s hard to move much less talk,” Ryan s weight shifter back and forth. Guilt took over his emotions.
She felt her own guilt starting to flood in. "I've done it before, I'll do it again if I have to."
Ryan remembered what Insanity had said. “Fine,” his feet stopped moving, he just stood there.
She chewed on the inside of her cheek, refusing to look him in the eye, knowing she'd only feel more guilty if she did.
Ryan sat down on the couch, “What do you want to do?”
Sleep sounds real nice right now! Yeah, give us a little time to regain our blood then we'll be fine. "I don't know." WHY. SERIOUSLY WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO YOURSELF.
“Okay,” Ryan refused to wallow in pity an guilt. Insanity was right, it was boring and dramatic, a real soap opera everywhere he went. “Does sleep work for you?”
Sleep sounds great! Sleep sounds wonderful. "You sure? We could go do something, I wouldn't mind." ….I'm not going to even acknowledge that. YOU ARE GOING TO KILL YOURSELF LIKE THIS BELLE WHY DO YOU DO THIS.
“No I’m exhausted and to be honest it looks like you are too, it’s been a long day,”
"Alright, if you're sure." She curled up, leaving space for him if he so insisted on sleeping next to her. She forced her weak and foggy brain into her nightly routine. Picturing a blank wall and focusing on it to clear her thoughts, slowly starting to drift off.
“I own a bed,” he laughed but laid next to her.
"Hmm…too lazy to move…" She mumbled, sinking further into her sleepiness.
“ I could carry you there but if you so insist on sleeping on the couch,”
"You can do that if you want, I'm just trying to sleep here." Her voice was coated in a thick layer of sleepiness. She hadn't slept in at least 3 days and today's drama drained her.
Ryan chuckled and picked her up. He carried her into his room, that of which she’d never been in before. He laid her down on he bed and curled next to her.
She'd already fallen asleep by the time he was laid back down, small sparks emulating from her chest around her heart at random intervals.
