Ryan thanked Cooper, he remembered this side of the eldest Anderson. It's the one he knew the most when Cooper used to hang out with Darren and Ryan, he was Ryan's friend too until his ego grew to big for this town.

She slowly sipped her water, ignoring the overdramatic screams of pain in her head. Oh, the pain! Okay you can shut up. It's not her fault that a certain someone can't handle a little bit of cold. It's freezing! How do people drink this stuff? "Shut up, both of you. I can't even think with you two bickering like an old married couple." She muttered under her breath.
Ryan looked at her, "You say something?"
Darren had his eyes closed, not tired really, just trying to fight off the next wave of headaches. Darren was just happy Cooper didn't notice, it was nice to have his brother back but like everyone else, he was overly concerned.
Her eye snapped up from its spot on the floor. "Hmm? Oh, no I didn't say anything." Liar. You can be quiet.
Ryan looked at Darren, his wincing, his baggy shirt that used to fit him, his pale face despite the fact that he was half Filipino and had a tanned complexion, "He doesn't look too good," Ryan said to Belle quietly.
"I know. I'm scared for him. But I just know he'll hate pity so I'm not sure what I can do besides just be there for him." She mumbled back.
"He hates pity but sometimes he mistakes helpfulness for pity, Cooper pitys him, but he is trying to help," Ryan sat on the floor.
She sat next to him, laying her head on his shoulder, glancing at Darren every once in a while, almost as if to check he was still there. She was what she liked to call 'A bottling person', meaning that instead of showing and telling her emotions like a normal person, she bottled them all up and released them via sobbing herself to sleep every night like wringing out a wet towel.
Cooper had said something to Darren before walking out the door, it wasn't English but they both understood it. Ryan knew what it was and kept his mouth shut, wondering if Belle understood the language because of Nami.
"You okay Darren?" Ryan asked the moment he heard Cooper leave.
"m'fine," He groaned.
She shuddered her chills from no particular cause. She felt tired and weak like she was moving through Jell-O. Being out interacting with people and having major emotions to hide kicked her anxiety into overdrive and drained her. She forced the sleepiness away and forced herself to go blank until needed. She had an ocean to control and a dam to build.
Ryan held her hand when he noticed the sweat beading on Darren’s forehead. He hated seeing him like this. Darren had good days and bad ones. This was clearly a bad one.
"Darren? You okay?" Her voice was soft. She looked concerned, but there was no pity in her expression.
The actual concern made him respond honest honestly instead of the way he did to everyone else, “No. not really,”
She knew what he expected. She knew the question he had an answer to. So she asked a different one. "How can I help to make it better?"
Darren opened an eye with a fair mix of shock and grogginess, he looked up at the stairs helplessly. He could t expect to be waited on when he wasn’t es to go up.
She waited expectantly. This was unusual for her, but then again, this wasn't really her either. Not completely. Her morality had taken charge and let her be the kind, caring, loving girl that she really was.
“I need to go up stairs,” he said in a quiet whisper as his eyes shut and his jaw clenched. His face becoming ashy and pale. He seemed embarrassed to have to get help.
She stood and walked over, slowly pulling him to his feet. "Easy now. One step at a time. Don't want to fall over."
Darren latched on to Belle, “I’m sorry,” he whispered, it was all he could muster. She shouldn’t have to help him. Ryan sat in slight confusion.
She chuckled lightly. She'd done this ten thousand times before, she was used to it. "I got you. Don't worry." She was slow, methodical, making sure he wouldn't lose his footing. It was something she'd learned from her childhood when she would have to help her sister up the stairs.
Darren was unable to hide his tremors in his hand like he usually did. When they reached to top Darren groaned, “Bathroom,”
She stayed quiet, just helping him there. "I'll be just outside. Call if you need anything." She slowly set him down, walked out, and shut the door behind her. She sank to the floor beside the door, staring at the wall.
Darren shook on the floor. His entire body hurt and the nausea set in as sweat dripped off his chin.
Ryan walked up the steps quietly and sat next to Belle, “Everything Okay?” Just as he asked he heard Darren gag into the toilet. “Never mind,”
She buried her face in her knees. She felt helpless. Powerless to truly help. She just tried to block it out, ignore it until she was needed.
Ryan sighed, “He’s gonna hate me,”
"Why do you say that?" She didn't look up. She couldn't find the energy to.
“He hates it when people go in by him during this,” Ryan cracked the door open a bit. The air in the bathroom was already warm and stale. “Hey budd-“Go away,”. Darren croaked.
She cringed. Those words had plagued her too many times to count. The last time she had ever listened to them, she'd lost the only good part of her childhood she had left. Her sister. She didn't know what to do.
Ryan nodded and stepped out before hearing a strangled, “Wait,” Ryan re entered and sat next to Darren.
She sighed, lifting her head to see that she was by herself. She knew where they were, they were not even 10 feet away. Then why did she feel so alone? She grit her teeth and dropped her head again, just wishing she could block it all out and have a normal day for once.
