(THE THING. SHE STOPPED LOSING HER SHIT)
(Wha??)
(OH. RIGHT. THAT THING. I NEARLY FORGOT.)
Ryan walked up to the house, the house that hadnât changed sing Darren was 9. He didnât knock he just walked in and looked back to see if Belle was following.
She was stood next to him, glancing around slowly. It'd been a while since she was here but nothing seemed to really have changed.
âDarren?â Ryan noticed the silence
âYeah Iâm in here.â
Ryan walked into the living room. Cooper asleep on the chair and Lillian asleep on the couch in Darrenâs arms.
She popped out from behind the wall. "Wassup fuckers." She laughed. "I'm just kidding. Hey Darren. Been a while."
Darren chuckled, âHey Belle. Good to see you. These two are being boring and chose sleep over hanging with me sooo,â
Lillian's breathing was rhythmic. She wouldn't be waking up anytime soon.
She smiled. "I kind of expected that. Sleep is better than people so you have to give them credit." She scratched at her stitches again before slapping her hand away. "Sorry. Force of habit."
Darren rolled off the couch and walked over to Cooper, âYou guys should see him. He even gave me a hug after helping me get dressed and get down the stairs.
Ryan didnât look surprised.
She tensed slightly at the mention of him but chose to ignore it. "Really now? That's surprising."
Darren whispered something in Coopers ear that made him jolt awake. Darren laughed, âMorning sunshine,â
âHey,â Cooper blinked so the blurry figures became clear. He yawned, âHey guys,â
(Do you know that feeling when you know exactly what you want to describe in your head but you have no idea how to describe it? That's me right now.)
Belle did a small 2 finger salute. "Yo."
(Lol)
Darren leaned against the arm of the chair which basically prompted Cooper to shoot up to his aid. âDude chill,â Darren smiled, âIâm fine,â
Cooper sighed and looked at the company in the room. âThey just here to visit? Or can I get them something?â
"How about instead of asking him like he's a damn translator and we only speak Chinese and ask us yourself?" She sassed. She knew she should be nice, that it's Darren's brother and it's rather heartwarming to see him so protective and worried about him, but it was a force of habit. She couldn't help it and old habits die hard.
Darren snickered a little. Cooper looked over to her with a defeated, worn out look of sorrow sourced from his brother's sickened state, "Do you guys need anything? Are you just here to visit? Is there anything I can get for you?"
She winced. While, yes, he'd broken her heart, he'd still cared about her and it hurt her to see him like this. "SorryâŚforce of habit. I couldn't help it." Her voice was small. She wasn't quite sure what to do or say.
Cooper nodded, "It's not a problem, I'll get you guys water or something," He wandered into the kitchen.
The smile had fallen off Darren's face. He hated when people pitied him, he was fine.
She glanced over at Ryan. "Well you've been oddly quiet. Is anyone home in there?"
Ryan looked at her with a smile, "Yeah I'm here, just enjoying your little confrontation."
Darren sat down on the chair, "Hey Coop, can I get some water too?"
Cooper came back and handed cold water to everyone other than sleeping, Lillian. He ran a hand through Darren's hair, "Feeling better?" Darren nodded and chugged the water.
"Sassing is what I do. Though I try to keep it calm with certain people or situations." She chewed on her bottom lip.
