(Why I'm excited for February?)

(NICE!)
(Yes! Do you want to RP? Idk what, I could wake surgery DareBear up or something?)
(Yeah. Let's do that.)
One moment Darren was cuddled into Lillian's side, breathing her in, the next he was jolted awake, no dreams just a fear that he'd never wake up again. The day had been traumatic and stressful on everyone and was rearing it's ugly side now. He sat up quickly, his hard panting turned to wheezing that soon faded into frantic coughing.
Lillian woke up at his coughing. She slowly started rubbing his back from her laid down position, "Hey. You're okay."
The coughing stopped but the panting and harsh breathing continued despite how much pain it caused him.
Lillian sat up next to him, "Try and match your breathing to me."
Darren gasped for one final breath before doing as he was told, eventually, his breathing slowed and he leaned into Lillian. What would he do without her?
Lillian rubbed his other side and kissed his forehead, "Good job."
"Sorry," His voice was so raspy it was difficult to discern if it was even Darren's. He felt bad for waking her up with his irritational fears.
Lillian frowned slightly. She leaned slightly against him, "It's fine."
Darren looked at the clock above the door and smiled a little before finding the end of the bandage and unwinding it from his head. He wanted to see again and besides, it was uncomfortable.
Lillian didn't fight him this time. She just said quietly, "Be careful."
Once it was off he attempted to get up despite the fact that he was supposed to ask for help. He swung his feet over the side but just ended up sitting on the floor, his feet didn't want to work.
Lillian got off after him. She was worried he had hurt himself. She crouched down next to him, "Need some help?"
Darren sighed and nodded. He wanted to be independent but soon realized that wasn't a choice for now.
Lillian offered him a hand and helped him to his feet wrapping his arm around her and hers around his body.
"Thanks- bath-" He coughed, "Bathroom,"
Lillian nodded. She slowly made her way to the bathroom, "Don't talk if you need to."
When they got there he stared in the mirror, turning his head so he could see all of it. A bald circle above his left ear that held a sideways U of stitches. This was worse than the other one had been. "Oh," He said gruffly as his smile faded. He rubbed it and picked at it with a finger.
Lillian took his hand, "Let's not. You just got them in. I'm sure Belle can give you your hair back."
"Do you think it's gone," after one rough word he was coughing. The sentence didn't go well.
Lillian rubbed his head, "The doctors said so. But I'm not convinced."
