“Is this from the, ummm, shot thing,” he couldn’t place the word right now.
“Is this from the, ummm, shot thing,” he couldn’t place the word right now.
"Um, mall?" Lillian suggested, "Movie?"
He shook his head, “no,” he gestured to his arm, “The thing the nice nurse does. I say I hate her but shes nice and she does the shot thing to help the cancer,”
Lillian nodded, "Ohhhhh. The chemo therapy? Also you hate the nice nurse?"
“No I hate her job. She’s always so happy about stabbing me with needles,”
Lillian laughed, "Oh no. Not the needles."
“Shut up,” Darren groaned with a small smile, “they’re scary okay!” He put his ha d over the side of the tub.
Lillian grabbed his hand, "Yeah. No joke. You know I'm shock my arm isn't broken or some shit like that."
Darren put his head on he side of the tub, “My car has a broken arm or 2,”
Lillian sighed and found her hand in his hair again, "Yeah. It does. Sorry."
Darren sighed, “I’m not mad about it, I can fix it. I’m kind of excited about it,”
Lillian smiled, "Really? That's great."
“I basically built that car, I can do it again,” he looked at her, his face had more color now.
Lillian smiled and kissed his forehead again, "Maybe I could help?"
“If you want, that would be great.” He smiled.
Lillian smiled, "Of course I do! I'll be happy to help you."
(Sorry lunch I am here.)
(It's cool.)
Darren closed his eyes, his breathing slowed and even put, “Thanks,” he said under his breath.
Lillian resisted the urge to kiss his forehead a third time. She instead nodding, "You feeling better Dare?"
Darren looked up at her with drooping eyes, “Yeah, just tired,”
Lillian put her hand against his forehead, "You feel cooler too."
He nodded as he ran his hand that wasn’t holding her through the water. “I’m not sweating anymore,”
Lillian smiled, "That's really good. Do you want to nap or go back down to the family?"
Darren thought on this, he should take a nap in fact he would kill for one, “We should go down,” he decided.
Lillian nodded and stood up to get his clothes that were strewn across the floor.
He reached for a towel hanging on he wall, he stepped out and wrapped it around his waist, leaning against the wall for support.
Lillian grabbed a second towel and wrapped it around his shoulders, "Doing okay?"
“It hurts,” he winced as he tried to take a slow step forward.
