Lillian shook her head. She whispered quietly, “I’m sorry.”

"It's fine," He repeated with the same tone. Refusing to look at her.

Lillian felt awful. She destroyed Darren’s car. It was her fault right? It didn’t matter she was injured enough to pay for part of the damage.

Darren closed his eyes as he let his head fall on the hospital bed. He could fix it, he had before, he just had a lot of work to do.

Lillian laid a hand on his head and repeated herself like a broken record, “I’m so sorry.”

Darren groaned, "It's fine. Not your fault,"

Lillian frowned and looked down, “But it is. I was driving right?”

"Yes," He was upset and had resorted to not using complete sentences.
