Lillian smiled and took Reese's hand. She gestured to the warehouse door, "I drove here. Want to go back home?"
Lillian smiled and took Reese's hand. She gestured to the warehouse door, "I drove here. Want to go back home?"
"Yes," Reese answered quickly. She was eager to leave.
Lillian nodded and lead Reese to the car. She let her sit in the front seat as she started up Darren's car.
(You should like, accidentally hit a car and just dent it a little… It would be fun…)
Reese looked around in awe. "Mom never lets me sit in the front seat! It's so big up here!"
(Yeah it would… Pushes away other more devastating plans)
Lillian laughed as she pulled up to the main road, "I suppose for good reason. But I need you to give me directions. Which way is your house?"
(You should totally crash his car!)
"Oh, uh," Reese looked around. "Straight."
(YIS! THAT WAS THE PLAN! Then the hospital. With Lillian. Hehehe…….)
Lillian nodded and looked across the road before going straight, "I'm glad you're okay."
(Lol… This gone be fun)
"Me too," Reese agreed. She paused. "That sounds very selfish. Straight again."
(Reese too)
Lillian chuckled, "No it's not."
She stopped and scanned the intersection before going straight.
(Van from earlier okay Camie?)
(???)
"How so? I am wishing for my safety over the safety of others. It is selfish. Left," Reese shamefully justified.
(Like that hits them.)
Lillian smiled remembering earlier as she turned left, "That's like me blaming myself for Paige's death. You aren't thinking about the bigger picture because sometimes you're safety is more important than others."
(Oh, sure!)
Reese considered this. "Yes, but -right- the bigger picture is sometimes, almost always, cloudy."
Lillian gave a quick nod, "It can be."
Suddenly the van reappeared out of nowhere heading straight at them. Lillian slammed on the breaks and threw her right arm out to protect Reese as-
…
Blackness
(Crying MY CAAAAAAARR…. Oh Lillian you okay?…….. NOOOO MY CAR!)
All Reese saw was a blur of white careening towards them and then- Glass shredded at her face. She gagged on a scream. She was gone. (JUST PASSED OUT FOR NOW, SHE'S NOT DEAD!)
(Same! NO MORE DEATH! NO MORE DEATH!)
(I AGREE! I AGREE!)
(Yes to the pain though… I like suffering!)
A phone rang. The secretary answered. "Hello?" The person on the other end of the line filled her in. The woman's eyes watered. An ambulance was screaming through the streets moments later. "Doctor Vegran. Doctor Vegran."
Darren's phone was ringing. The contact read Lillian.
Darren smiled when he saw Lillian's caller ID, "Hello beautiful,"
The responder let out a sigh, "You're her boyfriend? You're girlfriends been in an accident, a bad one at that."
Darren's smile dropped as his heart rate picked up, "Is she alive?" He was already searching threw jacket pockets for keys, it had been forever since he had driven the motorcycle.
Dr. Vegran rode in the ambulance. When she arrived, she treated it like a normal car crash. Until she saw her daughter. Then she screamed.
"Yes, but barely. She took the brunt of the force attempting to protect the girl with her."
