Venus held back a sharp, bitter response. "It didn't work out." Venus brushed a piece of hair behind her ear, somewhat regretting telling him.

"How so?"

"She… I… We disagreed on some things." Venus closed her eyes and sighed. Her heart was heavy. JUST TELL HIM!

Ender frowned. "Things? What kind of things?"

Venus felt tears coming again. She was such a crybaby. "Ender, I…" She shook her head and let out a shaky breath. "I don't know."

"I'm sorry." Venus turned and hugged him tightly, shedding a few tears on his shoulder.

"I love you too." He squeezed her a bit.
