Jonah sighed and put his hands in the air. "Okay, you've got me. Can I not enjoy a midnight snack?"

"Of course you can. The only problem here is that you didn't invite me," she grinned cheekily, grabbing a pastry and biting into it. She sat on the counter.

"Well, it looks as if you invited yourself." Jonah disposed of the wrapper and sat next to her, leaning back against the cupboard. "We're friends, right?"

She cocked an eyebrow and glanced at him, chewing thoughtfully. She swallowed. "I would say so."

"O-okay, just checking." Jonah glanced down at his feet for a long moment, not knowing what to say.

Alicia looked away awkwardly. Why do you ask?"

I tripped knocking down the table I was hidding behind
spilling all the pasties on the floor..

"Who's there?"

I hoped no one would notice my was gown covered in frosting.
hey..hey.. I mumbled quietly.

Alicia frowned into the dimness. "Step out of that mess," she told the silhouette.

I slowly stepped forward towards them
embarrassed I started blushing.
hey..Alicia. I mumbled.

Alicia stared at Lenore a moment, stunned into silence. Then she burst out laughing. "Oh my, Lenore, you are a frosted mess. Come, sit." She patted the counter next to her.

Natalie wandered into the kitchen, wanting to sneak something for Shadow. And, lo and behold, was Jonah,Alicia, and her sister. "What are you guys doing?"

"Nothing," Jonah replied, hiding the danish package.

"Yeah right." Natalie replied. "It's not like I see the danish package that you have behind your back."

"No!! That's just… it's a non-danish. Yeah. You wouldn't like it."

Natalie giggled. "Relax, I'm not here to steal your danish. As long as you promise not to tell anyone that I took this." She grabbed a bowl with some left-over meat.

Cadmus laughed, he'd been watching from the shadows for quite some time, he stepped out. "How goes everything, guys?"

Natalie yelped. "C-Cadmus don't do that!"

"Sorry." He says, clapping her on the shoulder. "Looks like we've got a little get-together here."

"Well……………I would love to stay, but I'm tired. See you guys in the morning?" Natalie hoped that the others wouldn't notice her secrecy and note it as suspicious.

"Alright, I'll see you later." Cadmus says.

Alicia leaned back against the wall, uncrossing her legs. "Does everyone do this often? Midnight snacks?" she asked airily.

"I pretty much do as I please." Cadmus says.

Alicia snorted into her lemon tart. "Clearly," she muttered under her breath.

Natalie ran down the halls, finally reaching her room. She quickly shut the door behind her. "Hey Shadow." A gigantic black dog resembling a ball of fur got up from his spot on the floor. Shadow went to about Natalie's rib cage. She put the bowl of meat down along with a bowl of water. Then she rubbed his head. His left hind leg was mostly wrapped in a white bandage. She quickly slid off her heels and put them in her closet. She grabbed a long dark blue nightgown, then went into the bathroom. Five minutes later she laid down by the fire, head on Shadow's side.
